1st semi final highlights

It was a match of nerves and the one who had more control won the match. Jayawardene and his men came out with a scintillating performance to tame and send the Pakistani cricket team back to their homes.

Sri lankan captain won the toss and decided to bat first. He is no just a captain, but a champion captain who plans thing as shrewdly as if he was preparing a war. And every captain of a team should plan such an important match as semi-final of a world cup as a war and he should devise a well thought out plan and force his men to follow.

Hafeez made a sort of blunder when he dropped Abdul Razzaq, one of the finest all-rounders in Pakistani team from playing XI. Many people including Pakistani fans in the stadium were startled to know when the report of Abdul Razzaq became known to them. He had been in great form and had scored decently against Australia in the previous match that Pakistan had won.

So the beginning was wrong and though Pakistan was able not to allow Sri lanka a huge total, some wayward bowling in the last over ensured that Lankans had a decent total. No one from Pakistan was able to score runs except Hafeez who seems to have failed to inspire his side. Shahid Afridi looked like a burden on his team and went for another duck. What a fall from grace for an international player!
