London, (IANS) A differently abled man in Britain was left high and dry after being robbed of 12,000 pounds (over $19,300) by two individuals he met on Facebook and invited them to play video games at his parents’ house.
Paul Miller, 28, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, had invited them as he was alone at home, Daily Mail reported.
Miller, of Lancashire, is traumatised due to his ordeal. He had invited the two after they spent two weeks communicating with him on the social networking site.
After arriving at the house, one of the men went upstairs, taking jewellery and about 250 pounds in cash, an iPad and an iPod, while the other kept Miller in one room.
As Miller’s mother Lorraine and stepfather Marty Heggarty returned home, they found him in a state of shock and items worth thousands of pounds vanished.
She said: “Paul was very distressed. We had to take him to hospital after it had happened.”
