Pakistan beat New Zealand

Pallekele (Sri Lanka), (IANS) Result of Pakistan vs New Zealand match was on expected lines. Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 13 runs in a Group D match of the World Twenty20 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium here Sunday.

Chasing 178, New Zealand managed 164/9 in their 20 overs.

Rob Nicol and Brendon McCullum scored 33 and 32 for the Kiwis while the Pakistani off-spinner Saeed Ajmal took four for 30 in his four overs.

Earlier, Nasir Jamshed’s top score of 56 helped Pakistan achieve a total of 177 for six. Skipper Mohammed Hafeez also chipped in with 43.
