Pak score after 8 overs 73 for 1

Pakistan vs New Zealand T20 World Cup match has begun on a positive note. Pakistani score was 73 runs after 8 overs for the loss of one wicket. Both Pakistani openers Hafee and Nazir gave a tough time to New Zealand bowlers. But Nazir gave away his wickets rather easily when Southee toook his wicket at his individual score of 25 runs

Pallekele, Sep 23 (IANS) Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat against New Zealand in the Group D match of the World Twenty20 here at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Sunday.

The squads:

New Zealand: Rob Nicol, James Franklin, Brendon McCullum, Ross Taylor (Captain), Daniel Vettori, Jacob Oram, Kane Williamson, Nathan McCullum, Tim Southee, Kyle Mills, Adam Milne.

Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez (Captain), Imran Nazir, Nasir Jamshed, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Yasir Arafat, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal.
