Fight of underdogs

New Zealand vs Bangladesh match was always going to be very interesting, and that seems to be true from the very first ball of the match today. To be true there is favourite in the match today and whoever comes with better performance will not just win today’s match but also send tough message to other top teams of the tournament.

Both teams are giant killers and have proved it time and again. Both Bangladesh and New Zealand have very young and sort of inexperienced side. Opposed to the Indian team where seven out of fourteen players are over thirty years of age, Bangladeshi team boasts of a very young side where the median age of the team would be around just about 25 years of age.

They are a team that is in the process of learning and they are galloping ahead, not just in the shorter versions of the game, but also in longer versions. Mushfiqurrahim, their young and energetic captain will be under the watchful eyes of not just his team management, but also millions of cricket crazy cricket fans of Bangladesh who will return to their homes with wider chests if the team wins today and goes on to do well in the tournament ahead.

Mushfiqur Rahim, the captain is just 24 year old like his other teammates and is full of energy. To be true, he is not fearful of even the top teams as he and his boys have beaten the top teams. Today’s match should be a test of his nerves as his almost same side beat New Zealand team in test and one day tournaments just over a year ago.

New Zealand on the other hand have to prove that despite being written off, they are still a winning side. They too are a young side and they wouldn’t be scared to take risks and try to reassure cricket fans back home that they are among top T20 teams in the world.

Meanwhile Bangladesh won the toss today and decided to field. Their decision looks good as they have already scalped a wicket and the run rate seems to be modest going by T20 standard. After 7 overs the New Zealand side is playing at 45 runs for the loss of one wicket.
