Its release date has finally arrived. After months of wait and a steady stream of speculations and rumors, Apple is finally going to unveil its next generation smartphone. The new iPhone version that almost everyone is calling iPhone 5 has made more headlines than almost all the top of the line cars in a single year.

The observers are unanimous that this will be the highest selling phone in the history of smart-phone. A report while talking about its sales prospects in United States said that the Cupertino based Apple may be able to sell as many as 50 million units of iPhone 5 in USA alone.
The new iPhone will be the first product to be launched with Apple’s next generation OS iOS 6. iOS 6 was unveiled by Apple at the WWDC 2012 keynote and its key features that would certainly be part of iPhone 5 include a massively overhauled Siri, Facebook integration, and a major breakthrough in the mapping system.
An important aspect of the new iPhone 5 will be a much more improved Siri. With iOS 6, Siri takes a leap in its abilities to answer more questions from arenas like sports and movies, and that too in lot more languages. Siri can now guide you to the restaurant with your favourite cuisines and also make reservations for you. The most fascinating addition is the integration of turn-by-turn directions in Maps and Siri with the Eyes Free feature. You couldn’t have asked for more from it. While driving, you will be able to talk to Siri without taking your eyes off the road, through the voice command button on your steering wheel. The iOS 6 device won’t even light up, to minimize distraction while getting your work done. Siri will help you compose texts, post new tweets and Facebook status updates – all with the sound of your voice. Siri will even answer questions related to weather and stocks on the new iPad.
Another important feature that will come to your new iphone will be Facetime. FaceTime will now work over cellular networks and Wi-Fi as well, enabling you to make or receive FaceTime calls almost anywhere. FaceTime will now allow users to see who’s making the call on your iPhone using your phone number. A bit of Airplay and things could get really life-size!
Besides the above mentioned features, there are new exciting calling features iOS 6 adds to your phone. Whenever you can’t answer an incoming call, you will be asked to swipe up to reveal options – you can instantly reply with a text message, set a call-back reminder, but when extremely busy, send the call to voicemail. You can also add exceptions to ‘can’t-miss’ people on your contact list. There’s also a ‘Do Not Disturb’ option to reject all incoming calls and notifications, which you can enable manually or schedule a recurring time. These are only just a few improvements that you will get thanks to the fact that it will come with iOS 6.
There are many important improvements that will make your iPhone all the more desirable and the most important feature will be a bigger display. Instead of 3.5 inch, the new version of iPhone 5 will come with 4 inch display.
