Reports suggest that the world’s top soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo is unhappy at Real Madrid (video). To be true there are many theories doing the rounds and one among them that he is unhappy because he is not treated the way Messi is treated at Barcelona

Cristiano Ronaldo recently surprised the football world when he hinted at his unhappy quotient with Real Madrid. The Portuguese forward is acting bizarre of late, even refusing to celebrate his goals against Granada.

Ronaldo celebrated the first goal in a restrained manner that spoke loudly of the underlying tension. Speculations are many, but most of it point to the treatment that his arch rival Lionel Messi receives from Barcelona. Ronaldo seems to be upset with the preferential treatment that Messi’s team gives him. Ronaldo may be jealous and this might have little to do with Real Madrid after all.

There are a lot of theories coming up to pinpoint Ronaldo’s reason for unhappiness, but most of them are not even close to the issue. In fact, there may be multiple reasons behind Ronaldo’s behaviour. Currently, Real Madrid pays him $15 million per season which looks a little less than what he actually deserves.

There is another credible theory that `Ronaldo may be unhappy due to the treatment meted out by the club to his dear friend and teammate Kaka. Ronaldo has done everything to put Kaka back in his place but the team management hasn’t let Kaka make a single appearance this season. This might have hurt the star player’s ego to the point of no return. No wonder he wants to make a statement right where the action is, and what better place than the field.

Real Madrid didn’t utilise the summer transfer window to bring in a player that Ronaldo specifically wanted. A source close to Ronaldo said that the unhappiness may have its roots in the fact that Real Madrid didn’t do what he wanted. The specified new player could have complemented Ronaldo on the field, but more than that it would have meant that Real Madrid valued Ronaldo. Whether it’s monetary or emotional, it’s clear that Ronaldo wants attention, and a lot of it. Just up to Real Madrid to decide the kind of preference it wants to give its star player.

There’s no denying that Ronaldo is the best Real Madrid has and whatever antics the star player adopts, he deserves an extra from his club. If there are speculations about Ronaldo fighting a cold war with the team management, then it’s equally true that there’s more than what meets the eye.

If all speculations don’t hold up their ground, there could be something more serious going on between Ronaldo and the team management. Like a secret deal that Ronaldo is unhappy about? That could be a different perspective altogether and seems like a lot is involved here.

There are strong rumours circulating in the media about Cristiano Ronaldo moving to China for Shanghai Shenhua. According to a report by Soccer News, Shenhua had got in touch with Real Madrid and Ronaldo after the end of the last La Liga season. If Ronaldo’s contract extension with his team gets delayed, things could be different after the transfer window next year. It’s all about money, and lots of it!
