College football rankings 2012 seems to have become a non issue as Alabama trounced Michigan in such a comprehensive way. But can they really regain number 1 rank?
The season seems to have begun on a great note. Not just for Alabama, but the fans too are enjoying the way it is progressing. It is shocking, unpredictable, entertaining and lots of suspense. By the way who had thought that Alabama will batter Michigan the way they mauled them.
41-14 win is so humiliating for the losing side and certainly a shot in the arm for the winners. By the way, many analysts are already calling Alabama number 1, after the sort of performance they came out with.
Many people are ranking them not as the number two in the tournament, but as the number one. Arkansasexpats.com, a news portal is already showing them at the top of all the teams in the tournament.
To be true, many people had predicted a disastrous start for Alabama in the season. They might have thought going by the fact that it seems a rather new team and not the team of last season that was on top of the world. But the team seems to have got together finely even at the beginning of the season. Their one-sided triumph against a poor Michigan reflected the sort of confidence that powers them every time they enter the stadium.
A report in Bleacher Report while praising Alabama goes, “It’s no easy feat to destroy another top-10 opponent—especially one with a history as rich as Michigan’s. But A.J. McCarron—who threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns—and the Crimson Tide proved that they are ready to make another run”.
Before the very important Saturday match even Alabama coach was apprehensive about the outcome of the match. Siban said, “If this team is not successful it is not because of the character and attitude of the team…It will be because of the lack of experience the team has in certain positions, and they may make too many mistakes to win. It will not get compared that way, I am sure, because this team has done everything the right way.” Now after the resounding win he must be over the moon. But it was just a single win for his team and a single loss for Michigan and there is a long way to go in the tournament.
