Samsung Galaxy Note 2: The biggest phone comes with great features

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is undoubtedly the biggest smart-phone in the market. But without doubt the new version comes with best features

Samsung has really done magic at IFA 2012 in Berlin with a marvelous Galaxy Note 2. What the rumor mills have been talking about for a long period has come to reality. The South Korean tech maker has surfaced a really stunning and amazing upgrade to its Note ‘phablet.’ Samsung launched the first generation Galaxy Note at IFA 2011. Now it has gone on to uncover its second upgrade at the trade show’s 2012 edition. The new Note 2 comes with almost all features that were rumoured to be there.

Galaxy Note 2 Specs; at a Glance
As it was largely anticipated, Samsung has increased the display size of its phablet. The latest Note is to come to stores with a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p HD Super AMOLED display with advanced screen clarity. The Note original has a slightly small 5.3-inch display. For flawless performance, Samsung has placed 1.6GHz quad core processor with the company’s own Exynos 4 Quad chipset, plus 2GB of RAM. The Note 2 will preload the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

A new look and feel is yet another great thing with the Galaxy Note 2. Samsung has just copied the very form factor of its flagship Galaxy S3 in Note 2. The new phablet is a bit slimmer than its forerunner with a 9.4mm body. The original Note is 9.65mm thick, however. A beefed up 3,100 mAh battery is yet another special thing with the gadget. It may provide great battery life for the handset, which has many factors like a large display and quad core processor that greedily devour battery.

Due to a slightly larger display, the Note 2 is 2 grams heavier than the original model. The gadget sports an 8MP rear camera and a 1.9MP front camera for video conferences. Similar to the Galaxy S3, the next version Note is to come in three memory options; 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Plus, the machine sports a microSD slot that supports up to 64GB of external memory sticks. For connectivity, the device has both HSPA+ and 4G LTE. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and other essential features will also be there.

Galaxy Note 2; Special Features
Besides the specs, Samsung has overhauled the gadget’s S Pen stylus also. The redesigned S-Pen is longer and thicker so that it is more ergonomic and user-friendly than its predecessor’s digitizer pen. The new S Pen features some exciting and cool tricks like Air View. It is a feature that lets users just hover the tool over an email, image gallery, video clip or others to preview the content. There is another amazing gesture called Quick Command that will help users hastily activate frequently used apps.

The next key special thing with the Note 2 is that it has instituted the record of being the world’s largest ‘screen’ed handset. The original Note was indeed at the top position thanks to its 5.3-inch display. Notable other phablets in the market – the LG Optimus Vu, Lenovo LePad S2005 and Dell Streak 5 – have 5-inch displays. Now Samsung has spread out the boundary of the record with a 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 2. In smartphone category, Samsung’s own Galaxy S3 is in the top position with a 4.8-inch display, however.

Galaxy Note 2; Samsung’s Words
Introducing the device at IFA 2012 in Berlin, JK Shin, Samsung’s President of IT & Mobile Communications Division hoped that the Note 2 will stimulate customers to “unleash their inner creativity.”

“With a perfect viewing experience and unique and differentiated features, users can discover information and capture their ideas faster, express thoughts freely and manage tasks more efficiently. For anyone who wants to be creative, expressive and unique, the Samsung Galaxy Note II will be the ideal device, allowing users to live a life extraordinary,” Mr. Shin added.

Galaxy Note 2; Price and Release Date
The Note 2 is slated to hit Europe, Asia and the Middle East in October 2012. The device will come in two colors; marble white and titanium grey. The company has not mentioned the release date of the device in the U.S. There was no word on the pricing of the handset as well.
