Samsung Galaxy S2 Crystal Edition comes for ladies

With sophisticated handsets coming out from various makers, there is less significance for a year-old phone. But, Samsung has made some of its Galaxy S2 models valuable with leather backing that glues up 129 Swarovski crystals. Yes, the new Galaxy S2 Crystal Edition is to be put on display at the IFA 2012. The handset is designed to steal the heart of women, who usually fall for crystals and leather. The Galaxy S2 Crystal Edition is to come for a huge price of $750. So, you may certainly rethink of buying a year-old technology for a big price.

There is nothing new with the Galaxy S2 Crystal Edition. The handset has the same specs and features under the hood. You have the same 4.3-inch display, 1.2GHz dual core CPU, 8-megapixel back camera and a 1,650mAh battery. It differs only with its leather-bound and crystal-studded rear layer. The white device has a nice leather coating with bright Swarovski crystals. Also, the price makes difference. You need to throw in €599 to get handset.

Samsung is to display the handset at IFA 2012. The Korean tech maker will avail the Crystal Edition of Galaxy S2 in German stores soon after the trade show. Lady customers will mostly be in mind while taking it to the stores. Indeed, Samsung hopes that ladies will show no coldness in getting the outstanding handset. Moreover, the technology inside the Galaxy S2 is not that much old. Indeed, we can’t tell that the handset is completely outdated thanks to its rich specs.

Well, tech blogs have given great coverage for the handset. Everyone is really excited about the Crystal Edition of Galaxy S2.

Galaxy S2 and current market
With the arrival of a highly sophisticated upgrade, Galaxy S3, there is no market for Galaxy S2 at all. Today, the device has less significance as a high end smartphone, because its follow-up has garnered immense attention. Customers are crazy to get the Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Galaxy S3, which chiefly features a quad core CPU and a large 4.8-inch display. The Galaxy S2 is undergoing a firmware update now. The Gingerbread-powered handset is getting Ice Cream Sandwich update. Many users have so far downloaded the new update of the firmware on the handset. Many are still waiting for the update, however.

Apple’s legal threat over Galaxy S2
The fate of Galaxy S2 is under threat in the U.S. In help of a recent legal win over Samsung for copyright infringement issues, Apple can go to the court and manage to put a ban over Galaxy S2 in the country. There is a report that Apple may go on to entail a ban over Galaxy S2 from various carriers in the U.S. As per analysts, there is a chance that the U.S. courts will produce a favorable verdict for Apple.

“Apple hopes to ban the sale of the Galaxy S2 on three of the major carriers in the U.S. including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint where it is known as the Epic 4G Touch. It also wants to ban LTE variant of the device known as the Skyrocket that is currently available through AT&T” writes Christian Post’s Vincent Funaro.

The Galaxy S2 is still a valuable phone on market. People, who don’t afford the new Galaxy S3 or other premium handsets, go for the second generation Galaxy S across the world. Anyway, Samsung’s decision to roll out a special fancy version of the handset is great. However, the company should work harder to thwart the potential shipment ban over the handset in the U.S. It is a bit impossible task, however.
