Apple’s legal threat over Galaxy S2
The fate of Galaxy S2 is under threat in the U.S. In help of a recent legal win over Samsung for copyright infringement issues, Apple can go to the court and manage to put a ban over Galaxy S2 in the country. There is a report that Apple may go on to entail a ban over Galaxy S2 from various carriers in the U.S. As per analysts, there is a chance that the U.S. courts will produce a favorable verdict for Apple.
“Apple hopes to ban the sale of the Galaxy S2 on three of the major carriers in the U.S. including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint where it is known as the Epic 4G Touch. It also wants to ban LTE variant of the device known as the Skyrocket that is currently available through AT&T” writes Christian Post’s Vincent Funaro.
The Galaxy S2 is still a valuable phone on market. People, who don’t afford the new Galaxy S3 or other premium handsets, go for the second generation Galaxy S across the world. Anyway, Samsung’s decision to roll out a special fancy version of the handset is great. However, the company should work harder to thwart the potential shipment ban over the handset in the U.S. It is a bit impossible task, however.
