Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Vs LG Intuition will be competing for the same niche market. Here we examine their expected features and specs
LG is all set to expand its phablet war over Samsung into the global market. The Korean tech firm is to roll out a global version of its Galaxy Note killer, the Optimus Vu. The new device namely Intuition will come with several updates – both in software and hardware aspects – to raise stiff challenge to the possible next-gen Note. In case of Samsung’s Note 2, the device still lives in rumors. The company is expected to announce the device ahead of IFA 2012 in Berlin. The second upgrade to the Note may tout lots of great improvements, including a large 5.5-inch screen, quad core CPU and others.
Here we take the Galaxy Note 2 and LG Intuition for a comparison. We certainly realize that both the devices are not yet available for grabs. But, we have a clear presumption on what the devices will look like. When it comes to the Intuition, it is clear that the phone is to become only an international version of Optimus Vu. Talking about the Note 2, the tech blogs have pulled in immense rumors about the possible features of the gadget. Stick on to enjoy the comparison.
Display
Different from the original model, the Note 2 may have a bit larger display, rumors say. As per some sources, the new phablet will have a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p display screen and it is to be HD Super AMOLED. That is, users will get a bit more freedom to surf web, compose notes, watch movies and enjoy games on the handset. The Intuition, on the other hand, is anticipated to come with a 5-inch display with 1080p capability. Its original version the Optimus Vu has the same display.
Processor
As per a South Korean newspaper, the Note 2 will sport Samsung’s own Exynos 4 Quad 4412 quad core CPU clocking at 1.4 GHz. It will make the gadget analogous to the Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S3. With the powerful quad core processor, Samsung needs to fit in a stronger battery, thus users can play with the gadget for a long time. The Intuition may come with the same 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon-based Scorpion CPU of Optimus Vu. There is no report that the handset may get some serious hardware upgrade.
Firmware
Most probably, the Note 2 will come to stores with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Since the new version of Android has grabbed fame, Samsung might design its second gen Note 2 with the highly feature-rich firmware. Meanwhile, the Intuition is expected to hit stores with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Other features
The Galaxy Note 2 is largely desired to arrive with a 12-megapixel camera. People really look for a handset from Samsung with a heavy camera. A 12-megapixel camera will make Note 2 a digital camera as well. Users can take the device in their trips for shooting images and video. Plus, they can make calls and access web. Further, the Note 2 may have 16GB and 32GB storage options. For connectivity, advanced features like 3G and 4G LTE, NFC, microUSB will also be there.
The Optimus Vu sports an 8-megapixel rear camera. Therefore, the LG Intuition may also have the same camera. There will be a 1.3MP front camera for video chatting. The LG phablet will also come with 32GB of internal storage. Connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC and microUSB port will be other notable features.
Release Date and Price
There is no confirmed news about the price and release of Note 2. Rumors predict that the device will be on show at IFA 2012 in Berlin. And it will be hitting U.S. stores in a few weeks after its official demo. The Intuition, at the same time, is to appear on Verizon for a price of $199 with contract and $549 without contract. Verizon will soon start selling the device in the country, reports say. Hopefully, the Note 2 may also come with a low price; only so it can remain competitive.
