As such this issue have featured in the HRCM Report under sub-section Five. My request was based on statements President Nasheed gave to US media such as the David Letterman Show, widely watched by huge global populations. The HRCM Report however only made a mere 7 references to only two local media outlets between 7 Feb and 11 March, totally out of context. Such sub-standard and flagrant oversight by a National Human Rights Commission is unacceptable. This July the UNHRC recommended Maldives re-vamp our National Human Rights Commission. The Maldives is not well at all and the story is not dead by any means.
