Samsung Galaxy Note 2 preview: Features, specs expected

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features and specs have become talking point across the world. Rumors are running full swing about an upgrade for Samsung Galaxy Note ‘phablet.’ Various sources have reported that the South Korean tech maker is working with a large and slim Galaxy Note 2. GSMArena says Samsung is all set to roll out the gadget in an unpacked event ahead of the IFA 2012 in Berlin, possibly on August 29. Though not confirmed by Samsung, reports are sure that the device is on way. Anyway, here we preview the rumored Galaxy Note 2.

A bit larger display: Most rumors about the Note 2 suggest that the device will have a slightly larger 5.5-inch display. The Note is a media-centric device and is meant for large scale media consumption on the go. The original Note does have a 5.3-inch display. As per a leaked image, the bezel of the Note 2 has been reduced so that its footprint will not affect your pocket. It is heard that the Note 2 will possibly have a Super AMOLED display akin to its predecessor. Moreover, there is a chance that the Note 2 may have Galaxy S3’s Super AMOLED HD display. The device may have a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

New processor: Of course, we can expect a new and powerful processor on Note 2. It is a time the recent handsets come with high speed quad core chipsets for increased performance. It is heard that the Note 2 will sport a 2GHz proprietary Exynos 5250 quad-core chip. Meanwhile, yet another source said that Samsung would use the same quad-core Exynos 4412 chipset that you can find inside the new Galaxy S3, but the Note 2 may over-clock at 1.6GHz.

Form factor: The original Galaxy Note replicates the very form factor of the Galaxy S II. So, there is a great chance that the company will shape up the new Note in style of the latest Galaxy S III, which has brought into life a remarkably new design from its predecessor. Earlier, MK Business News reported that the company would roll out the Galaxy Note 2 as a derivative of the S3.

However, since there is no leakage of the working prototype of the device, we can’t exactly tell how it will look like. Some tech sites hyped the rumors showing up alleged Note 2 images that reportedly appeared on the Facebook pages of Samsung Pakistan and African countries. It looks that the new device will be a bit larger than its predecessor thanks to a big display.

Camera and battery: We may be getting the much-touted 12MP rear camera on Note 2. Earlier we expected that the S3 will have a pretty powerful camera. But it has only the typical 8-megapixel rear camera. Being an ultimate media gadget, the Note 2 may have a 12-megapixel rear camera; well, an upgrade to the original’s 8-megapixel camera.

When it comes to the battery life, the speculated Note 2 will have amazingly longer battery life. If the company plans its second generation phablet as a derivative of S3, it might have great battery life. Unlike its previous handsets, Samsung Galaxy S3 does well in battery life.

Operating System: It is almost sure the new version of Note will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android, which premiered on Google Nexus 7. The original Note arrived into stores with Android 2.3 Gingerbread last year. It just received the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the U.S. The global markets had the firmware update a bit earlier. Of course, we will have the brand new Jelly Bean on Galaxy Note 2.

Final Words
Needless to say, it is too early to make a preview of Note 2. Samsung has not yet made a single word about the particular product, which lives only in rumors for a while. But it is quite logical to think that the Note will get an upgrade this year. Being a decently successful product, the Korean tech producer may take hurry steps to realize a second edition for the phablet.

I hope the Samsung engineers have moved the volume and power buttons down to the bottom of the phone for easier one handed operation.

let’s hope that Samsung does not do the same thing as they did with Galaxy SIII they should give the thing according to the expectations of people, and SIII was completely different. If Samsung releases something with that good specs, Damn!, Apple is doomed.
