Eid is the time when Muslims across the world enjoy feasting after fasting. For a whole month they go without food and water from early morning till late evening. They sacrifice everything otherwise halal for the sake of Allah (SWT) pleasure and the rewards that He promises for the world hereafter.
After thirty days of fasting when the Eid al Fitr arrives it is but natural that believers across the world will wholeheartedly enjoy the food and halal drinks that they avoided for complete one month. If Eid al-Azha is known for sacrifices of animals in the name of Allah, Eid al Fitr is known for feasting and great foods.
A number of brothers and sisters across the world are in search of great recipes at the time of Eid to serve their families and their guests in the best possible way. Here we are detailing three great dishes that you can easily prepare during this meethi (sweet) eid.
Vermicelli(small pieces) 1 cup
Milk 1 liter
Sugar 1/2 cup or to taste
Dried Dates 6-8
Small Cardamom 4-6
Almonds as required
Pistachios(sliced) as required
Coconut Powder 2-3 tbsp
Cooking Oil 4-6 tbsp
Heat milk in a pot and when it comes to a boil, add sugar and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Soak dried dates in 1/2 cup milk for 20 minutes.
In a wok, heat Cooking Oil on medium heat for 3-4 minutes and add cardamom.
When it pops, add almonds, pistachios and dried dates and fry till golden add vermicelli, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes and add coconut.
Slowly pour the sweetened milk and stir continuously.
Cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes.
Dish out, garnish and serve.
Tip: Instead of dried dates, fresh dates can also be used in the same quantity
Tangri kebabs are grilled chicken drumsticks that have marinated in yoghurt and spices, giving a juicy and tender texture inside, with only a drop oil for cooking!
Chicken leg piece 1/2 kg
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Yougurt 2 tbsp beaten
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Orange red colour pinch
Red chilli 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Corn flour 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp roasted
Olive oil 2 tbsp
Clean and trim excess fat and skin from the drumsticks make three to four long deep incisions.
In chicken add yougurt,lemon juice,ginger garlic paste,Orange red colour, red chilli powder,egg ,corn flour, salt and cumin powder mix well.
Place marinated chicken drumsticks on a baking grill.
Pre heat oven in 180 degree and cook for fifteen to twenty minutes then turn drumsticks couple of times to ensure even cooking and colour.
Serve hot and garnish with sliced lemon and lettuce.
Butter 125 gm
Icing sugar 63 gm
Flour 165 gm
Vanilla essence 1 tsp
Coco powder 30 gm
Mix flour and coco powder in bowl and place aside.
Beat butter and icng sugar together in the beater for 8-10 minutes.
Add egg and beat for 3-4 minutes.
Add flour mixture in the above mixture and mix with hand.
Fill this mixture in piping bag.
Grease oven tray and pour the mixture in this tray with the help of piping bag
Place this tray in preheated oven at 200c in the begiging than at 80c for 20-25 minutes.
For chocolate lovers, dip these cookies in melted chocolate and serve.
