Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 price may defy Apple iPad dominance

Samsung has taken a shot at the superiority of iPad with the price of its new Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. The Android tablet, equipped with a split screen and digital pen, comes for almost identical prices of iPad. The South Korean tech giant has surfaced the 16GB basic version of the Note 10.1 in the U.S, the U.K and South Korea for a price of $499. It is almost the same price of the basic iPad version. The 32GB version of the Note 10.1 comes for $549 with both the versions sporting 32GB microSD slots for memory expansion.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 comes up after abundant rumors over the product. Since the success of Galaxy Note 5.3 phablet, there have been rumblings that the Korean electronics major will envisage a large 10.1-inch iteration of the gadget. Well, it has realized. Google has announced the product a bit earlier and now it has gone official with the release date declared for Thursday, August 15, 2012.

When compared with the iPad, the Note 10.1 has many merits and demits at the same time. Apple iPad (the new version) has terrific display clarity thanks to the company’s Retina technology. Indeed, the screen resolution of Note 10.1 is rather meek than the iPad’s. But, remember the point that it is the first Android tablet from Samsung to come with a digital pen (S-Pen) and also the feature of split screen. The second feature helps users run a pair of apps side-by-side on a screen that is split to two parts.

Further, the Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with a quad core CPU and 2GB of RAM for optimum performance. Of course, 2GB RAM makes the Note a brilliant product since it can provide stable processing performance. It will help you a lot while watching a movie or surfing the web. The iPad still doesn’t have a quad core CPU and a powerful RAM. These two things are always counted as two biggest shortcomings of the machine.

To top it all, the Note 10.1, as it name suggests, features a large screen; plus, it is slimmer, lightweight and powerful. Apple iPad has only a 9.7-inch display, but is also bulky not to let you easily carry around in your trips. The Note 10.1 is further affluent with the latest version of Android namely the Ice Cream Sandwich. In near future, the device may get the most recent Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as well. Users will be lucky enough to get features like Google Now, Project Butter, Android Beam and other with the Jelly Bean on the tablet.

Many analysts think that Samsung has specially designed Galaxy Note 10.1 with the stylus as a great business solution. It is also a brilliant feature that will make the device outshine iPad, one of largely used business tools in the modern era. With high power CPU and RAM, “the Note tablet is intended to attract business and education customers, a strategy that could be more effective than going all out against the iPad,” says the Associated Press. iPad currently has 70 percent of the global market share thanks to its great name and features.

Samsung really wishes to see the Note 10.1 getting huge popularity over Apple iPad. The company launched around a half dozen Android tablets in last couple of years under its Galaxy Tab brand. But none of them did raise critical challenge to the domination of iPad. Hopefully, Samsung has now launched the Note 10.1 with worthy specs and affordable prices to steal the market prominence in future.

There is an analysis that all former Samsung tablets did not get more customers due to their dearth of apps and other user friendly services. The Note 10.1 comes to solve all cutbacks. That is, you will get a totally revamped machine with Android, which may be able to pull up the so-called iPad supremacy.
