Olympic medal count 2012 chart: USA with 104 medals on top
Olympic medal count 2012 chart once again has brought back the USA on top in the sporting world. They have shown that despite some slump in their economic fortunes, they still retain dominance over the world like in otheer fields. But the Chinese, despite being left behind by a wide margin still got 87 medals including 38 gold medals. Th good thing about the emergence of China in Olympic games is the fact that it has not allowed the US to go unchallenged in the biggest sporting event.
Many Chinese sites have suggested that USA gets top spot in Olympics not because of teh genius of US sportsmen, but because they win so many medals in some particular events. They say that the US got 31 medals in swimming. It is slightly less than tehir total medal count. In track and field, they go 29 medals. So over half of their medals came from just two sports. China on the other hand has got its medals from more diverse fields. But US fans would call these logic as sour grapes.
Another aspect of the Olympic Games is the fact that United Kingdom has won 65 medals including 29 gold medals in the Olympics. No one had imagined that they will be so successful not just with organising of the games, but also in their medal count too.
