Update: Usain Bolt once again won the 200m in Olympic 2012 winning gold second time in a row in both Beijing and London Olympics. He won the race in just 19.32sec, the third-fastest time of his career
Usain Bolt is the biggest news in the world right now. It is not Mitt Romney or Barack Obama who are hogging the limelight across the word, not even disgraced Syrian president Bashar Asad, but a sprinter from Jamaica.
Yes it is this humble and always happy persona of Usain Bolt that has become the biggest news across the world. He is the man of the moment and within hours it is going to be proved as to whether he is the best sprinter of all times.
The way he effortlessly made his way into the finals, beating everyone without even trying his best was a treat to watch. By the way besides women gymnastics, if a sport is being watched across the world in highest numbers it is none other than sprinting and the reason of it being so much popular is known to us all.
Usain Bolt effortlessly qualified for the 200m final where he is pitted against a fellow Jamaican sprinter and some top American sprinters. But given the fact that no one expects him to lose in the 200m too, the real competition is to grab the silver medal. So while many people are trying to project it as Bolt vs Blake, but I am reserving the gold for Usain Bolt and for silver there will be competition between Blake vs the rest.
Meanwhile after competing for the finals, a calm Bolt said, “It’s all about going through as easy as possible. That was the aim, so I’m pretty happy…I’m ready. This is my favourite event, so I’m looking forward to it. I know what I can do, so I never doubt myself.”
In the meantime Bolt’s semifinal run in the 200m was watched by more than 11 million people. He has become such a huge star, that he attracts so much attention from his fans across the world. One of his fans has this to say, “What a fantastic race to watch. Our kids were mesmerised with the pre race rituals of Bolt and Blake never mind the actual race itself! Bolt is without doubt, the finest athlete that the world has ever seen – with a fantastic personality to match. The scenes with him and Blake after the race, interacting with the crowd, were a joy to watch”
