Usain Bolt has been enjoying his superstar type status in the Olympic Village. After making a world record and winning his 100m shootout he is enjoying the spotlight all over again. In the meantime he also qualified for the 200m that he is also expected to win Thursday.
He is working hard on training, but he cannot keep off some light entertainment. So it was nothing strange to see him partying with Swedish handball team in the Olympic Village. Reports suggest that the champion spent considerable time in the company of three petite girls, all part of the Swedish handball team. The trio looked smitten by his charm.
Reports indicate that the three girls spent several hours last night in the champion sprinters’ residence within the Olympic village and as their Facebook updates show, they say they just talked and talked and danced a bit.
Meanwhile Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is expected to win his consecutive title in the 200m that will take place tomorrow. His win will show to the world that he is the best of the best. The efforts of some people to belittle his achievement by bringing the doping aspect to his win is being met with criticism from his fans and others across the world.
A report in Washington Post asks his opponents to question the sprinter himself as to whether he ever consumed performance enhancing drugs. But people denounce such efforts to malign the true achievers. A reader says, “Surely, it is irresponsible for Washington Post report to speculate about drug use by the world’s greatest sprinter simply because of the high quality of his performance, even when there is no evidence of any wrongdoing. And if you have to bring this subject up because you want to monetize every thought, why not wait a decent interval after Bolt’s victory rather than interrupting the celebration with dark expressions of suspicion”.
Another reader while denouncing the efforts to bring the question of doping and malign Usain Bolt says these will not befool any sane person. “That’s part and parcel of achieving outstanding athletic feats in this day and age: you have to deal with speculation of having doped. Too many athletes have been caught, and it’s just too widespread. It stinks to high heaven for the athletes, for sure, who don’t deserve to be looked at askance for the sins of their predecessors, but it’s unavoidable…What coaches and sportswriters should NOT do is publicly comment on their suspicions, though everyone may be thinking exactly the same thing. It’s poor form and makes you look like a sore loser. The IOC keeps test results for 8 years; if an athlete has been using PEDs, the truth will come out eventually”. Usain Bolt doesn’t need to think of such adverse campaign by certain people and concentrate only on what he does bet, run.
