ALIGARH: Lt. General (Retired) Zameer Uddin Shah, Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University has urged AMU students to embrace a wider and richer multicultural world view in order to achieve success in globalized world.
In his welcome message to mark the beginning of new academic session, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah described the students as the soul of the institution and asked them to make University proud by their academic accomplishments.
Congratulating the new students, the Vice Chancellor exhorted them to learn the traditions of the University from their surroundings and try to emulate the high moral and ethical teachings of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founding father of the University to attain excellence in life and strengthen the foundations of this age old institution. He emphasized that the great traditions lived on in people and generations of the AMU family had proudly demonstrated the University’s traditions of commitment to the world, a sense of duty to society and loyalty to the University.
General Shah called upon the students to make an example the remarkable achievements of the alumni of this great seat of higher learning who have meticulously proved their finest qualities of knowledge, culture, eminence and sense of belongingness throughout the world.
Referring to Nelson Mandela’s popular quote that education is the most powerful weapon to change the world, the Vice Chancellor appealed to the students to commit themselves to the noble cause of attaining knowledge and enlightenment and thus make the University proud of their accomplishments.
