Samsung Jasper pictures leaked by Verizon: Release date a mystery

Samsung Jasper pictures have been leaked by Verizon. Meanwhile the release date of this smartphone remains a mystery preview

A few months back, we heard about a new midrange Android handset from Samsung, dubbed the SCH-I200 Jasper. Then it was only a rumor in the wild. Now some sources have leaked the images of the handset that features nice specs to become a midrange handset. Well, this time around, rather than mere rumors, we are shown the front and rear sides of the handset in images. Samsung Jasper looks quite amazing with a small form factor and cute design. It is a Verizon-branded handset, however.

As per reports, Jasper is to pack a dual core 1.5GHz CPU. It is also suggested that the handset will come with a WVGA display that packs 800 x 480 pixels. No other details about the device’s innards are really available. When it comes to the design, the handset looks like Samsung Droid Charge and Google’s Nexus S. According to CNET, Verizon may soon bring this handset as a low-cost alternative to Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S III. This Android Ice Cream Sandwich handset will largely be welcomed by customers if it is up for a small price.

“The leak also gives away some of the key specs of the new Jasper, and let’s say it is a mixed bag. The upcoming phone will be powered by a Snapdragon S4 chip, but the resolution of the display leaves much to be wanted. It’s an 800 x 400, which, to put in perspective, is the resolution of the display of the 2010 Nexus One,” writes Android Authority about the Jasper handset.

Indeed, powerful Snapdragon S4 chipset will be the major feature of this midrange Android handset. It is the same chip that you can see inside the bestseller Android phones HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3. That is, Samsung Jasper will ensure better performance and stability. We are to get a nice low-priced alternative for Samsung Galaxy S3, a record-breaking performer in sales.

The Jasper engraves on its rear panel that it is a 4G LTE handset. Thanks to Verizon’s high performance 4G LTE network, the device will ensure better web browsing experience. We can enjoy faster browsing and download apps and programs quite instantly. As well, for enjoying digital content and other web content, Jasper will be a suitable handset.

Samsung continues to be a leading player in global mobile market. The company has recently overturned Apple to become the world’s largest smartphone vendor. As of now, the company has just released the third version of its flagship Android handset series, the Galaxy S. The Galaxy S III has been attracting huge number of customers soon after its launch. The company sold out more than 6 million units of the handset within one month and two days after its release on May 29.

Samsung shines well in feature phone market as well. The South Korean tech maker surpassed the Finnish mobile maker Nokia in selling the most number of feature phones in the world. The company rolls out a huge variety of feature and midrange phones for different markets. Diversity of products is one of the major points that make Samsung a winner out there. Also, it is now the world’s premier smartphone maker for Android platform.

Regarding the release date and price of Samsung Jasper, we have no idea at all. The company has not even confirmed the handset. Rumor mills have no idea about the price tag and release date of the handset. They have just received some leaked images and a vague picture of its specs. More details about the handset are still to come. Most likely, it will be highly affordable for common and entry-level users.
