Asus
The Taiwan tech major has recently announced that the Jelly Bean update will soon come to its different tablets. The company sources have revealed that its Transformer Pad, Prime and Pad Infinity will get the firmware update in the coming months. Meanwhile, the original Transformer and Transformer Slide tablets will only get the update some time after. A press note from the company said that it is “still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices as well.
“We are pleased to announce that many of our tablet products are scheduled to receive an update to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. The ASUS Transformer Pad, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive Android 4.1 updates in the coming months. We will provide further guidance on our expected timeframes for these updates near their release,” the press note says.
Asus’ Transformer series of tablet PCs are some of the best Android tablets in stores. Its Transformer Prime, the first tablet with a quad core CPU, has just received the Ice Cream Sandwich update. Its fresh version the Pad Infinity preloads the stock version of ICS and it is also one of the much-awaited devices to get the Jelly Bean update.
HTC
HTC has also exposed a plan to shortly update its top Android handsets with the Jelly Bean. The company is to first bring the new firmware to the top models of its new line of One-series handsets. That is, HTC One (AT&T) X and One S (T-Mobile) will soon get the update. “We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android,” the Taiwan tech maker said.
“At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean,” HTC added.
HTC’s One X is a premium Android handset in market now. It is the first quad core-powered handset from the company. The One X now competes with Samsung’s premier Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S with rich features and specs. HTC fans might be excited to hear the news that the One X will soon get the Jelly Bean update.
Samsung
Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus has already started receiving the Jelly Bean update at least in the U.S. Google and Samsung were forced to early update the device with the new firmware. It was with a target to keep off the handset from a shipment ban from a U.S. court in response to a copyright infringement suit from Apple. The device was blamed to be infringing on Apple’s patents for voice-based web search and some other features. In order to thwart the ban, Google went on to update the handset with Jelly Bean, removing the contentious features.
As per new reports, Samsung is seemingly preparing for the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III. This is Samsung’s premier handset now. The latest version of Android will certainly hit the handset soon. The handset has accumulated huge response from market so far. Samsung has sold out more than 6 million units of S3 in just two months after its release. Indeed, we can expect the Jelly Bean update for the handset quite immediately.
