Microsoft Surface tablets vs iPad: iPad being challenged by Windows 8 tabs

Microsoft Surface tablets are set to challenge Apple iPad. Windows 8 tablets are going to pose tough challenge against Apple tablets

We have finally received the exact release date of Windows 8. The new version of the software is to go public on October 26, 2012. The company has already unveiled its tablet PCs with the much-talked about Windows 8. Microsoft’s new Surface tablets – Surface RT and Surface Pro – are to create a revolution in tablet market. Bill Gates has been really excited about the Microsoft tablets for a while. But the user interface (UI) Microsoft developed was not great.

Now with its new Metro-style UI, Microsoft has developed Windows 8 and a special variant Windows RT for ARM-based machines. Apart from Microsoft, many third party hardware makers including Samsung, HP, HTC, Acer, Asus and Nokia are also to produce tablets on the firmware. Many analysts are of the belief that Windows 8 ecosystem will rebel against Apple iPad. More than Android, Windows 8 will be a threat for iPad; because, Android’s growth is explosive across the global markets.

Windows 8 tablets Vs iPad
Windows 8 really advances up with lots of breath-taking features. Microsoft has designed the firmware with a superbly innovative and different user interface. The software’s default screen touts a Metro interface that we are familiar with Windows Phone 7. Icons and menu items are larger that they can accommodate finger taps for easy and quick access. The software also features different swipe actions users can carry out to bring up context menus.

It is when iPad’s start screen has a traditional look and feel. In fact, it is a time customers are largely in search for something innovative with their tablets and other tech products. There is no doubt that this fresh look will give an advantage to a Windows 8 tablet over an iPad. Yet, irrespective of the new Metro interface as a default view, you can go back to the typical Windows desktop on the Windows 8-based tablets. This feature is not up for Windows RT. So turning your Windows 8-based tablet to a PC with a keyboard is a simple task.

Many new business friendly apps will enhance Windows 8 tablets. Most computer users in the world use Windows and MS Office. The new version of Windows is to come with the new Microsoft Office 2013. “While you can do word processing, edit spreadsheets and give presentations with an iPad, Office is still a dominant force in this area. This is especially so for the spreadsheet application Excel, an indispensible tool for many business users,” comments CNET. Yes, we will the new MS Word, Excel, OneNote and other highly business friendly programs with a Windows tablet – whether it is based on Windows RT or Windows 8.

A big diversity in hardware will be another big advantage for Windows 8. In style of Android, Windows 8 will get products from various tech makers. Microsoft has made deals with lots of tech companies besides Nokia, its official hardware partner, for producing tablets for the platform. The list of companies covers the giants like Samsung, Asus, HTC, Acer, ZTE, HP and more. That means, in style its Windows Phone, there will be a huge variety of tablets with the software.

Surface RT and Surface Pro: Official tablets

Google has rolled out its official Android tablet just recently. Nexus 7 has just come out. Of course, the Asus-built 7-inch tablet is being sold like hotcakes. Contrary to Google, Microsoft has first launched its own tablets for Windows 8. The company has surfaced two reference tablets; Surface RT and Surface Pro. The first one is to run on Windows RT and the latter is meant for Windows Pro. The 10.6-inch tablets will be priced a bit larger The ARM-based RT may have a price around $500 and the Intel Ivy Bridge-based Pro may be priced around or above $1,000.

    Go Microsoft

Wow, even the smallest sites and the most insignificant articles are begin bribed by Microsoft.

This coming October looks very exciting indeed. I cannot wait! Windows 8 is sure to eliminate the iPads dominance due to it actually allowing you to get work done. Not only does the windows surface combined with windows 8 and office 2013 look fantastic but it actually allows you to do work. Unlike the iPad that is heavily marked for it aesthetics and play around os, cause thats all you can do with it play! Anyone who says iPads are the best like the apple fag Alexander, are so drawn in by apples advertisments and the portrayal of the device that they, like other apple believers believe it is the best and everything else is crap. Well I have news for you apple is shit if you are really into computers. Oh and by the way iPads are connected to tablets like the surface tablet so suck shit.

Alexander, if you have a different point of view to others, then state it. That’s the whole point of discussion forums. But to simply claim that Microsoft must be bribing those who have a positive and enthusiastic view hardly adds any intelligence to the discussion. Try a little harder to display some.

Windows will have a tough time getting there sales coz of the app market… If they get around that they might go up pretty fast

All you Microsoft fan boys are out of your mind. You can get a lot of work done onan iPad. Just because we don’t have the beloved Office doesn’t mean work doesn’t get done. I work in a corporate environment and have no problem getting work done. Once again Microsoft will be late to the game. Windows 8 will be a tough sell. Why switch from 7? 7 works just find. I don’t need no stinker Metro!
