Sehwag and Kohli have propelled their side to a formidable score of 161 for one wicket after 27 overs. India vs Sri Lanka 2012 1st ODI cricket match seem to be going India’s way

India vs Sri Lanka first ODI cricket match score: India seems to have exploited the favourable condition to its maximum use against the hosts. After winning the toss and losing the first wicket in the form of Gautam Gambhir, India hasn’t looked back. Virendra Sehwag and Virat Kohli, both have come out with their top class performances to put India in a commanding position till now.

Sehwag has faced 88 balls and has scored 86 runs while Kohli has faced 75 balls and scored 60 runs. Both the batsmen have taken up a very intelligent strategy of patience and aggression. At the end of 27.2 overs Indian team has scored 151 runs for the loss of just a single wicket.

Sehwag seems to be playing his natural game, but with a sense of restraint and responsibility. he is one of the best players in the Indian team, but due to some impulse he plays shots that neither benefits him not his team. This often affects his standing in the side. If he plays with the same restrain, he can play long innings, effectively destroying the opposition in all forms of the game.

Virat Kohli who has become the mainstay of Indian batting in the last more than a year cannot be bowled out by ordinary bowlers. At times, though he has lost his wicket to some extraordinary bowling by ordinary bowlers, but he is a tough nut to crack. Given his determination and solid foundation, he is the most effective Indian batsman in the playing eleven right now.

Lankan bowlers are looking like clueless. No bowler other than Kulasekara have looked effective since the morning. He has taken the lone wicket of Gautam Gambhir. Others be it Malinga, Metheve or Perera, no one was able to create any pressue today. Even Malinga was looking a toothless tiger.

Sehwag has lots of game in him. It is unfair to drop for some poor performances by him in few matches. That will make lose his touch and unsettle him. He is a true and selfless cricketer.
