Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 review: release date very close

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 reviews are full of praise for the tablet. Meanwhile its release date seems to have been fixed for sometimes late July

ASUS always comes up with the best tablets, at least in terms of specifications and features. Its Transformer and Transformer Prime tablets have been huge hits in the market across the world. In fact its tablets have played a key role in shaping its brand value and making it a household name, at least in some parts of the world.

But this tablet from Asus is going to be best tablet launched so far not just by Asus, but by any other Android tablet manufacturer. It comes with top features and specs and trounces even Apple’s iPad 3 in many aspects. Though I will not call it as iPad 3 killer, but there are many who have already termed it as such. The simple reason for not calling it iPad killer is the fact that Asus’ supply line is no match for Apple’s mighty supply line and it is not eager to spend its dollars on ad campaigns to reach out to people across the world.

ASUS’s Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T tablet comes with a very impressive 10.1-inch display that shows images at 1920-by-1200 pixels. This the best display quality in any Android tablet launched in the market thus far. Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T tablet is expected to come with Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It will come in two variants of 3G and 4G connectivity. This is going to make it a lot more sought after compared to its previous models.

Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T tablet will not be a cheap Google Nexus 7 or Amazon Kindle Fire type tablet that will be sold for its price rather than its specs. Though its pricing policy is still sketchy, we understand that it will come at least in two versions one selling for around $499 and the other one selling at $599. Reports suggest that 32GB model will be sold for $499 and 64 GB model will be available for $599. Another great aspect of this tablet is the fact that if you already have a dock connector of your existing Transformer Prime, you can use the same dock connector to use with this tablet as well. Otherwise you will have to shell out another $149 for getting hold of the dock connector. The best thing about the dock connector is the fact that it will make it a complete netbook and will also increase the battery life of the tablet as the dock connector has its own battery too.

Besides other attractions in the latest Asus tablet, the most important unique selling point of the tablet can be its excellent display. The Infinity Pad’s most appealing feature is the display, but the resolution falls short of Apple’s new iPad, which has a 9.7-inch screen that can show images at a 2048 by 1536 pixel resolution. This is miles and miles better than other tablets available in the market that come with around 1280 by 800 pixel resolution.

Asus’ latest tablet comes with an excellent 8 mega pixel rear camera that possesses LED flash besides many other top features. Its front camera for video chatting is also exceedingly good for a tablet.

Its battery life is definitely a big winner. On its own the tablet gives a very long 10 hour battery life. But connect a dock connector and this goes to as long as 16 hours. This is the best in the market and there is no competition with it. Apple’s iPad 3 fails in many aspects if we compared both head to head.

The author mentioned the resolution display twice. The second time was confusing as instead of staying on subject he wrote resolutions of Android tablets not being reviewed. Why does every tablet review have to mention Apple? I have a new iPad and a Transformer Prime. I like the Prime better. Why not compare the TF700 to the Prime? No, it must be compared to the Apple product every time!

Apple is the standard… millions will pay a lot more for style. Others just want a device. The human eye cannot resolve the high resolution apple is selling. No matter, reviewers are required to compare everything to apple.

At least it wasn’t an apple fanboy… that’s really tiring.

Clarence Thomas, Why do you like your Transformer Prime more than your iPad… Just curious…

I’m thinking of getting the Infinity TF700…

@Clarence Thomas: Even your comment compared it to an iPad.

I like my Prime better because of ICS, the way I can sync to my computer, Google Play not requiring me to sign in for every single thing I do, and Flash. Again, I own both tablets but have basically have allowed the grand-kids to use the iPad. Please don’t touch my Prime!

This may sound like a silly question but does this unit work in Australia? Different voltage here… I believe all comments here are for US?
