UFC 148 results are being reanalysed by MMA fans: Silva vs Sonnen 2 full fight video highlights are available on UFC

Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen 2 has once again proved beyond doubt that Silva is undisputed champion of UFC, MMA and the best pound for pound fighter of our times. Within two rounds he had answered his critics loud and clear –he is the champion of champions and no one can dare take a dig at him.

And the man who challenged him for the last more than one year, disrespecting him and calling him names was all praise for Anderson Silva, his power and his magnanimity. His expletives were gone, and a far sombre face was visible, that we didn’t see during the last two years. “My opponent was better tonight.’ The better guy wins every time. The better guy won tonight”, said Sonnen immediately after the rematch in Las Vegas.

But it was complete turnaround of fortunes. When Anderson Silva, the top rated UFC fighter, first fought Chael Sonnen at UFC 117, MMA fans around the world couldn’t believe their own eyes. The man who remains unbeaten and unbeatable, untouchable, looked completely at loss. He was being dominated by a fighter with a 25-10-1 record.

Chael Sonnen was able to knock down Silva whenever he wanted and gave him very bad beating throughout the fight, except in the last moment. but in the final moments Silva awoke from his slumber. While on his back, threw up his legs, wrapped them around Sonnen’s neck and forced the tapout via triangle choke at 3:10 of the 5th and final round. We were once again reminded why Anderson Silva is champion amongst champions and king amongst kings. But since the fight in UFC 117, Chael Sonnen has been claiming on top of the world that he is the rightful owner of the middleweight championship: “Show me another sport where a guy can get dominated for 22 minutes, wrap his legs around you for 8 seconds and be declared the winner?”, he wondered aloud sometimes ago.

But to be true, in the first few minutes of the fight, he gave some tough moments to Silva fans as he displayed the same old power and attacking style that was visible in his 2010 fight against Silva. It was only in the second round that Silva came in his own and ensured that 2010 is not repeated all over again.
