The fight has been shifted to Vegas from Brazil where reports suggested that Chael Sonnen may face some security issue given his outspoken views not just against Anderson Silva, but also against the Brazil nation as a whole. In the weigh in results Sonnen was on the heavier side with 185 lbs weight, while Silva was lighter with 184 lbs of weight.

The fight today is going to be very tough for both the fighters as none of them may be ready to give up easily. Anderson Silva was actually eager to fight in front of his home crowd. Rio soccer stadium has a seating capacity of 80000 people and it was expected to be fully occupied for the fight. Brazilians were excited to witness the fight live in front of them, so was Silva. The decision to shift it to Los Vegas Clearly didn’t go down well with Silva and his hard-core Brazilian fan base.

A report while talking about the episode says, “Clearly the decision wasn’t taken lightly and risked upsetting the long-time champion Silva who was known to want to appear before his home crowd. “He was very upset about not fighting in Brazil,” White said at the press conference. “He wanted this fight with Chael Sonnen here. It took a lot of talking, and I finally convinced Anderson to take this fight in Las Vegas””
