Several leading websites were knocked off the internet by raging storm in the US. But Instagram continues to be down hours after other sites are back
Instagram was acquired by Facebook for $ 1billion recently. But since then it is facing one issue or the other. The latest to hit the photo-sharing service is the continued outage since last night. Reports suggest that the popular site that has close to 35 million members was taken of the world wide web when the storm knocked down the Amazon Cloud service that hosts the site.
It was not the only site that went of the air. But it remains te only major site that continues to be afflicted with regular outage long after other popular websites are back online.
Following the outage Instagram posted a message saying that it is working hard to restore the services. Amazon on the other and continued regular updates on its Twitter account. One message said, ”Power has been restored to the impacted Availability Zone and we are working to bring impacted instances and volumes back online”.
Instagram was popular among online communities even before Facebook acquired it. But its popularity as soared since then. Instagram is a budding mobile-phone based image capturing, modifying and sharing service, which was established two years ago.
