Virgin Mobile USA is set to sell HTC’s new One V handset in the country. The One V smartphone will be a nice product for Android handset fans, because it is a rich multimedia handset and is affordable. As per Virgin’s press note, the One V is a “powerful all-around media monster to help customers stay connected, take and share great photos, keep up on email, and enjoy high-quality sound.” The Taiwan tech giant announced the One V as a lower-end edition of its new One series of handsets at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in February. The 3.7-inch handset has a pair of elder brothers; the One X and One S. Here is a rundown to the major features of the One V from HTC.

Great Camera with HTC ImageSense: Users can enjoy a totally new camera experience with the handset thanks to an amazing camera with HTC ImageSense. Well, the settings provide improvements to all aspects of the camera including the sensor, lens, software and a new custom HTC ImageChip. The result is that you can get fast image capture and great snaps even under diverse conditions like bad light, says Virgin Mobile. The camera is also capable to shoot 720p high definition video and stills.

Dr. Dre’s Beasts Audio: HTC has integrated Dr. Dre Beats Audio features – both hardware and software – with the new One V. Thanks to the feature you will get authentic and rich sound for music and videos on the handset. From playing games to enjoying YouTube videos, you can get the benefit of Beasts Audio. “With built-in software on the HTC One V, customers can connect to a computer, and HTC’s Sync Manager software automatically installs to simplify moving music and playlists to your phone from your music library” says Virgin.

HTC Sense 4: The new Android user interface of HTC brings some incredible features to the HTC One V. The interface has nice options to let you simply share photos and videos on Dropbox. The One V comes with 25GB of Dropbox space free for two years, which users can utilize to share and store images, movies and other documents.

A nice display screen: The One V sports a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels at a moderate 252 ppi. Users will be able to enjoy better social media, web surfing and movie watching experience on the handset’s small and cute display. However, when compared with other One series handsets, the One V lacks in screen size and pixel resolution.

Good performance: The One V is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM. You have Adreno 205 as GPU for powering the graphical activities. The top end model of the One series, the One X is a quad core handset. But the One V is a moderate phone with a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU. Yet, it acts as a complete handset for users.

Better connectivity options: For connectivity, you have a variety of options on HTC One V. The device shows off GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth4.0 with A2DP and microUSB port 2.0. These are the items that you can see on all major handsets today. The One V, however, lacks NFC (Near Field Communication).

Sum-up
Virgin Mobile is to sell the handset for $199 with the carrier’s no contract Beyond Talk unlimited data offer. Indeed, it is a great offer for a user, who wishes to enter into the smartphone market with a moderate handset. “This terrific handset for under $200, combined with our no-contract Beyond Talk unlimited data and messaging plans starting at $35 per month4, is an ideal alternative to postpaid offers and to other smartphones on the market,” says Jeff Auman, VP of Virgin Mobile. “’A Higher Calling’ demands that we continue to expand our already stellar smartphone lineup, and we’re delighted to add this device from the HTC One series.”
