Two great smartphones from Motorola, Motorola Razr and Razr Maxx, are set to get Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich update. Though the wait was very long and frustrating for many users of the twin smartphones, the good thing is that the update has officially been announced and it will start being released to the two phones soon.
Both the smartphones are high end gadgets that will become all the more useful with the latest android 4 upgrade. So far several top end smartphones have already got the update and the list include Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, several HTC smartphones besides many others.
Leading cellular operator Verizon has posted details about the upgrade of the two devices. The company will provide over the air download and you will receive instructions on how to do it yourself. Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx is an advanced version of Droid RAZR smartphone. The high-end Android phone features longer battery life than its original version thanks to its huge 3300mAh battery. Other than this, the device has little change to show from the Droid RAZR. The Maxx handset measures 130.7 x 68.9 x 8.9mm and it has a weight of 145 grams. The RAZR Maxx comes with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen that packs 540 x 960 pixels at 256 ppi. The multitouch display, which is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass, is quite brilliant in image clarity and you can watch videos and images superbly on it.
In case of over the air server initiated update, users will be notified when the update will be available for his or her device. It will show a button that will initiate the download when you click over it. After the completion of the download click on install button. When the installation is complete, it will automatically power off and restart. That will complete the installation process.
