An Apple manufacturing partner, Foxconn CEO Terry Gou has rubbished Galaxy S3 and has suggested iPhone 5 release date in October. He has tried to impress upon iPhone fans not to rush for Galaxy S3 as next gen iphone 5 launch is ‘very close’
Foxconn CEO has been all praise for a product that is yet to hit the market. While Apple has kept mum about Samsung Galaxy S3 that is making waves across the world, Apple’s partners Foxconn has been bragging about the benefits of owning an iPhone.
Samsung Galaxy S3 is set to enter the US market in a big way and given the enthusiasm among smartphone lovers Apple seems to be fearing the loss of market. Galaxy S3 has no competition from any quarter and Apple is not yet ready to introduce its next iPhone variant till at least October 2012. And this has made Apple apprehensive about the launch of Galaxy S3 in the US market.
Foxconn CEO whose company actually manufactures the highest selling smartphone for Cupertino based tech giant Apple, has tried to convey to Apple fans that they shouldn’t go for the latest Samsung smartphone due to the fact that iPhone 5 will be available in the market within less than five months.
Foxconn CEO Terry Gou, though, didn’t clearly said as to when he expects Apple to release the next generation iPhone, but he said that “With [Foxconn's] marketing and manufacturing strengths and Sharp’s key technologies, the two will be able to defeat their arch-rival Samsung”.
Cupertino based Apple, the biggest tech company in the world has so far not announced a next generation iPhone yet. If we use past behavior as the best indicator of future behavior, than for the first four years of the iPhone’s existence, Apple announced the release dates at their annual World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) and shipped shortly thereafter. The original iPhone shipped on June 29, 2007. The iPhone 3G on July 11, 2008. The iPhone 3GS shipped on June 8, 2009. The iPhone 4 shipped on June 24, 2010. So there is no perfect launch schedule of iPhone and depends on the mood swing of Apple CEO.
So far, based on the rumors that have come out from different but reliable sources, CNet has concluded that the new iPhone 5 will come with around 4inch screen, 12 megapixel camera (to beat Samsung’s Galaxy S3), thunderbolt port besides of course 4G LTE and better SIRI.
