First- the RAM options are 8/16, not 4/8.
You forgot to mention that for that extra $700, you get a much higher pixel density, FLASH, and os X, all on a much thinner, prettier laptop that's half as heavy, not nearly as loud, fan wise, has great speakers, and has much better battery life.
The only thing going for the asus is the optional 3d.
Of course, I know people who bought cars for $2000...

Ok, I have to disagree with the price argument of this author.

Firstly, MacBook Pro is for professional - it was never meant for an average users (MacBook Air is for average daily users). Pro is rather for professional graphic designers, sound engineers, or other business users. My Gateway business laptop cost me around $4,000. So when it comes to pricing of MacBook Pro, I don't think it's a argument that you should be posing in comparison with the Ultrabooks.

I also own HP TC series tablet laptops with docking stations - which amounts to be about $1800 ~2000 depending on the setup. But still I believe that the new MacBook Pro is reasonably priced for business class laptop.

To have this argument to compare it to ultra book (which is a daily use laptop) shows that NVO news does not recognize products intent correctly, which shows rather poor quality of journalism.
