In a film industry where looks are most important trait, Aishwarya Rai’s weight gain issue may get her different roles
Aishwarya Rai’s weight issue is not going to die down anytime soon. The mom of a seven year old daughter, the Bachchan bahu has been under immense criticism for appearing at Cannes with so much weight. Her critics have been tearing her apart for allowing to look obese.
Many say that she should have worked out on her fitness before walking the red carpet at Cannes 2012. Though the Bollywood actress tried to hide her weight with some wise selection of clothes, her detractors are not going to forgive her for putting on so much weight even after seven months of her daughter’s birth.
But Aishwarya Rai has got support from many quarters. Her defenders say that Aishwarya, as a mother of a small daughter should be respected and her critics should giver her more time to lose weight. Karisma Kapoor while trying to defend the Bachchan bahu said, “Some women like to lose weight at their own pace, so it’s okay”.
In the meantime Aishwarya Rai is finally ready to sign her next films, having taken a first ever break in a career spanning 18-years, for Mommy duties. A reliable source close to the actress says that having enjoyed her break with her baby daughter Aradhya, Aishwarya is ready to resume her acting career. She is reading scripts right now and after shortlisting the scripts she will meet filmmakers to sign up for her next. Sources suggest that the woman who won Miss World title some 18 years ago has liked one script in particular from a director known to give actresses their due. But I am not sure how directors are going to come with roles that may suit the changed personality of the actress who looks pale shadow of her glowing past.
