Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate: doctors demand apology, others support him

Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate is hogging limelight. Doctors have demanded an apology from Aamir, but others are supporting him. Here is a response from a reader named Rohan in support of the Bollywood icon

First of all, the show is not at all biased. The show simply focuses on the bad apples, while admitting that there many more good apples too. I think it’s your guilty conscience that’s hurting.

Yes your profession was chosen and that’s because unfortunately we stupid Indians treat “the no-good doctors” like Gods. We cannot doubt their judgement and many a times doctors take advantage of that. Bloody, they don’t even talk to you properly. It’s as if they are not taking any money and are doing a favor on us.

And I am not talking out of hatred, but I see more merit in his show than your article. You are just spewing venom because your tribe was questioned, very typical.

If you really want to make a lot of money, then don’t become doctors. You make a joke out of this profession. It’s supposed to be a noble profession and not a gold mine for cheaters. I absolutely abhor doctors who are there to only make money. Like saints, politicians, et al doctors too should be dedicated to public welfare. But unfortunately, like saints, politicians, et al they only think about personal welfare. And I speak from experience, I have had a spinal fracture and I have been through hell with doctors.

You say there were no victims? Did you see the first 15 minutes of the show? Other professions are not clean, but they are also not our priority like health. You fail to realize that even after all this cribbing, a common man has more regards for doctor, than a lawyer, CA, engineer, etc.

Who says doctors should not make money? But don’t make money at the cost of someone’s life. And that’s exactly what show said. I could understand that. Being a common man, I got the message loud and clear that not all doctors are bad. But you wouldn’t get it. Mand buddhi and guilty conscience.

    why the doctors are demanding apology from AAMIR KHAN ?whatever he depicted about the wrong doings of doctors is cent percent true.dr.like DEVI SETTY appeared for the show.show is very fair and nothing wrong or baised reporting has been done.

    I agree wid u. These ruthless doc inorder to get their investments made in terms of fees & donations screw the pateints health & pocket by prescribing unnecessary med. Thus earning trips ,gifts cash from pharma companies…average earning doctor now goes for foreign tours due to malicious commisioning practice…thus holiday at d cost of pateints innocence

    I remember studying a ‘Subhashita’ in my Samskrit text book way back in 1953-54- when I was in high school that read-

    “Vaidya Rajo Namastubhyam, Yama Raja Sahodarah!
    Yamastu harati pranan, Vaidyo pranan dhananicha!”

    How apt it applies to most of the doctors in India today.

    I think that its nothing to feel about every thing has it’s pros and cons ….if certain issues are addressed to create awareness.anyways what was broad casted happen to be real only.

    yes, whatever aamir said was right. but people has to think doctors are spending nearly 15 years for (dedicated)studing this course.( both UG and PG). . so when they finish their course , they need enjoyment.. and so money.. its human nature..

    That’s a great job by Amir. Atleast now so called “Doctor” should stop making their living on flesh and blood of others. Now a days most of the Doctors does not even talk to you and does not even bother to find the root cause. I support Amir

    Thanks to Amir. He has the guts to show the real face. Doctors are god for the common people, but in recent years they have become so greedy they forget the owth the very day they get their certificates. Thanks to the medicine companies who made this doctors so greedy.

    Amir only told about the doctor who are malfunctioning. He even didn’t disclosed any ones name, nor he blamed all doctors. He showed us the problem society is facing which many people don’t know till they go to hospitals. One thing people say to doctor that is, it doesn’t matter how much gonna cost but cure my disease. Many doctor take advantage of this line & they use it to earn

    Choose business…
    To my experience the most doctors have I seen are all a part of shame on their profession, I didnt choose medicine for my graduation looking at what kind of things they do…
    Thanks to Swami Ramdev as he has created a friendly and effective environment for medical necessities. For any problem encountered now I consult Patanjali and I am fine now.

    hi I am Dr.shruthi(pt),a physiotherapist by professional I have worked with many doctors and not all of them are the same, @ the same time it’s wrong that health care facility has become an luxury commodity thanks to the influence of corporate industry only a very few can afford the best. the other thing that doctors & physicians can write generic names of drugs than the trade name,one has to realise that the chemist might only give a expensive drug of the same generic name which will give him more royalty. it’s a pity that many ignorant people go to a chemist for consultation than to a physician. there are many aspects to this problem which has to be sorted out as a complete solution

    Very good show Aamir.. It seems doctors are not aware about what general public know.. they dont know that the patients do come to know when they are not diagnosed properly or they are misguided.. though they dont have proof they very well understand they have been cheated.. its just that people dont speak out in front of doctors just because their life is in their hands. Aamir has just been voice of many such people. Many times doctors dont even explain to your query regarding your body problems.. I have thyroid and I know it cant be cured but atleast I have right to know and learn about from my doctor, because that is what I am going to my doctor for to know what is happening and why!! when I am paying 300 to 500 as fees everytime I visit with a problem, I dont go to just get some medincines prescribed alone.

    all of u who support aamir go to the U.S along with him fr ur treatment ….
    there u will come to know how a dr lives and behaves….
    there u will understand that a medicine that costs 5000 bucks here costs 500 $ in U.S

    what you tell about doctor,and medicine, you should know that doctor only aim to treat patient. it is his proffesion and their survival is only on this, so he will never compromise with his own proffession on which his all carrier depand. amir saheb branded medicine price are high in compare to generic medicine, agree. sir you should know how many cost are included in this. and in every industry the brand value is higher than basic matterial because of many intermideate coast. ex pepsi, coke,which you also do lot of aid for him. pessi and coke cost rs 12/bottle. but the basic matterial inside this coast is not more than rs 1. you should ask question to you why this?, answer will come because you are responsible to hike price from 1 to 12. because you take large amount from the company for aid , even not knowing either this good or harmful for health. doctor are not doing like this. so not blame on other till you beccome honest

    I have small question from Trihan can he disclose his wealth which he obtained by treating patients.. can he boldly say no commission is paid by test labs and hospitals to any doctor. Does this amounts to bribery?

    Doctors should learn to take the show with a pinch of salt. Sacchai kadwee hothi hai. The reactions of the doctors were anticipated. I think its the corrupt doctors who will object to the show. Whereas if any honest doctors too are objecting, then they should in fact support Aamirs cause, as this will be a good chance for them to expose the corrupt doctors. How come the doctors who are asking for an apology from Amir were silent till now. Have they ever exposed any of these going-ons in the medical profession. NO! They were aware of it, but didn’t have the guts to say it. If these so called doctors are sure that all that was shown were lies then why don’t they prove it ? Such a show cannot be aired without thinking of the legal consequences ! Remember, Amir is a perfectionist and he has his proofs ! So it should be the doctors who should be apologizing to Amir instead of the other way around ! Wake up man, its not the stoneage any more !

    I’m from darjeeling, this is very good show and I strongly believe that you don’t need apology to doctors those are demanding for apology from you. Those are demanding they most have taking percentage and playing with others life that’s why they stood up against with you. But sure that all Indians are with you and not Indian only but all over world who seeing this show.

    Amir you are really good and very good. And please don’t stop to go ahead. And also you need to add small city and towns story also.
