Samsung Galaxy S3 Vs HTC One X Vs Apple iPhone 4S: comparison review

Following is a short comparison review of three great smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S3 Vs HTC One X Vs Apple iPhone 4S

Samsung has just uncovered its third generation Galaxy S3. The new version of Galaxy S3 is set come with a large display, quad core processor and a powerful battery. HTC announced its first quad core smartphone the One X at the MWC 2012 and released it in April. The One X features a large 4.7-inch display. The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-based Galaxy S3 and HTC One X will fight with the iPhone 4S, the latest version of Apple’s flagship iPhone smartphone. Here we make a comparison between the latest phones to help you find the best one of the devices.

Form factor and design
Samsung has designed Galaxy S3 with a plastic body. Unlike iPhone 4S, which has a glass body, the Galaxy S3 touts lightweight plastic body. However, it is only 7 grams lighter than the iPhone 4S and is also 3 grams better the One X. When it comes to the dimensions, the Galaxy S3 is the clear winner with 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm compared to the One X’s 134 x 70 x 8.9mm and iPhone 4S’ 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm.

Display
Well, this is where the Galaxy S3 and One X outclass the iPhone 4S. The S3 comes with a large 4.80-inch Super AMOLED display with 306ppi. The One X, at the same time, touts a 4.7-inch IPS 720p HD screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels at a bold 312ppi. The iPhone 4S falls short with a small 3.5-inch screen that is a 960 x 640 Retina Display with a better 329ppi, though. Yep, the iPhone 4S may have better ppi, but people are fed with the small display.

Processor
HTC’s One X boasts Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad core processor that cloaks at 1.5GHz speed. Its major quad core rival the S3 features a new Samsung’s own quad-core chipset called the Exynos 4 Quad on ARM Cortex-A9, which clock at 1.4GHz. Well, the Galaxy S3 and One X completely beat iPhone 4S in processor speed. The 2011 version of iPhone only has a 1GHz dual-core Apple A5 processor. Indeed, the 2012 version of iPhone may come with an Apple A6 processor that has quad core capability.

OS and UI
Both the One X and Galaxy S3 are two leading handsets that come preinstalled with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It is the most recent version of the mobile OS from Google. Of course, ICS is one of the top features of the smartphones. On the other hand, iPhone 4S runs on iOS 5, the most recent version of Apple’s mobile OS. The One X touts HTC’s most recent Android interface, the Sense 4, which contains HTC’s ImageSense, a new camera app and much more. The S3, in the meantime, has Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay, which gives it a new look.

Connectivity
All the phones come with A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11n, HSUPA, HSDPA and Bluetooth 4.0. But One X only has Bluetooth 3.0. The handsets also have HDMI outputs, 3.5mm audio jacks, accelerometers, gyroscope, proximity sensors and a compass. The One X and S3 also feature NFC, which iPhone 4S infamously misses. The iPhone 4S stands out from the rest with Apple’s own AirPlay streaming system that can stream 720p video to Apple TV and others devices.

Camera
The One X, Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S mount 8-megapixel rear camera with full 1080p video recording capability. When it comes to the secondary camera, the One X and S3 respectively have 1.3-megapixel and 1.2-megapixel cameras. The iPhone 4S has a VGA camera, however.

Verdict
The One X, Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S are top handsets the market has today. Indeed, it is quite difficult to compare the three smartphones. The biggest competition is between the One X and S3, which are two best ICS handsets with quad core processors. The iPhone 4S is almost outdated with less competitive features and components. Now, as we have given complete rundown to the major features of the devices, it is up to a customer to decide which of One X, Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S best suits his/her requirements.

    your review is relatively good. But i need more described info.
    For example about their cameras. I read that s3 camera take 8 photo at the moment and it’s possible to choose the best one.
    If it’s possible write about their tagging system, Voice commands and etc.

    While the Samsung Galaxy s3 clearly outclasses both the Iphone 4s and the Htc One x is it really fair to compare last years iphone with this years Samsung Galaxy? I mean come on the 4s was on par with the S2 how is it supposed to stack up with the S3? Wait for the iphone 5 for the comparison people, lets have a good comparison between the specs of those two phones. One other thing when you (the reviewer) stated everyone was fed up with the 3.5 inch iphone screen you were writting your own opinion it is not your job to present your opinion as universal disatisfaction. Sure the iphone could use a bigger 4.0-4.3 inch screen but in my case I am more concered with my 4S’s poor battery life. If you have proof the majority of customers are more concerned with size than quality send me proof until then any generic statements are subjective and conjecture.

    You are just comparing physical attributes which is fine but does not decide which is the best phone.
    Anyone can do that – all I need is 3 brochures.
    Not worth the paper it was not written on.

    how good is iphone 4s from 4…is 4s more worth the money than 4 coz all features doesnt serve our purpose..but i think iphone is best lookin phone ever..
