Samsung Galaxy S3 reviews are all praise for it. Experts are unanimous that cheap plastic aside it is best smartphone. Watch the video
Korean tech giant Samsung’s Galaxy S3 hasn’t come out with as much improved specs as was being predicted before its formal launch two days ago. Though it is a lot better than what Galaxy S2 offered, it is definitely not as much improved as Galaxy S fanboys were predicting.
It disappointed its fans in at least two ways. Galaxy S2 RAM was expected to be at least 2GB if not more. But what Samsung gave to its fans was just 1 GB of RAM. Another disappointment was caused when Samsung failed to come with a camera with higher mega pixels than the existing 8 mega pixel camera that was also fitted in Galaxy S2.
Another disappointment for Galaxy fans was its cheap looking plastic body. The body, in-fact, looks so cheap that a reviewer said it looks as if the company procured the ‘super phone’s’ body for just $2.
But I must admit that other than the three aforementioned shortcomings, the Galaxy S2 looks a sure winner. In Galaxy S2, Samsung has once again brought another top class smartphone that is capable to sway the market in favor of its manufacturer. Samsung has pipped Finnish technology giant Nokia to the post by replacing it to become the biggest manufacturer of cell phones. The company’s graph is on the rise and it is reported to have sold as many as 45 million smartphones across the world in last quarter.
The real fight for dominance in the world market is being fought between Samsung and Cupertino based tech giant Apple. As far as smartphone market is concerned there is no clear winner till now and Galaxy S3 and Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 5 will decide as to who will win over the market.
South Korean tech giant Samsung’s latest smartphone comes with a far larger screen than anything we had thought. It comes with 4.8 inch screen and 8 mega pixel camera and will run on Google’s latest Android 4 or Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
I am not the only one who feel felt let down by cheap looking plastic of Galaxy S3. Pocket-Lint says, “If there’s anything we were slightly down on it’s that the back panel feels a little plasticky, especially when compared to other brands’ flagship phones, such as the Panasonic Eluga dL1 or Nokia Lumia 900, but at least it keeps the weight down”. But the reviewer then praises the gadget for its great specifications and calls it a computer in pocket. “Samsung has created a powerhouse of a smartphone, one that can truly make claims to being a portable computer in your pocket. We’ve seen enough to know that iPhone 4S fans will be sick with envy”, the reviewer goes on to say.
An Arstechnia reviewer says, “…Samsung uses the same thin, flexible, cheap-feeling plastic on the Galaxy S III as it did its predecessors, and it makes the phone feel like it cost about $2. Since I doubt it will cost $2, this is not a good thing”. Many others have shown their disappointment with the body.
But Samsung fans are not complaining. They are excited and say Galaxy S3 is the best phone to have been launched in the market so far and it will become a roaring success. A fan says Apple’s iPhone 4S was also condemned by many reviewers but now it is Apple’s top selling smartphone across the world. He goes on to add, “I think there’s a theme here. Extremely light with a low body density isn’t evidence of Samsung choosing to be cheap, it IS Samsung’s design esthetic. As is the chrome ring. You can complain about many things regarding Samsung, but inconsistent design esthetic doesn’t seem to be one of them. My Samsung Epic has exactly the same esthetic, despite having an integrated keyboard and being, what, 2-3 generations behind the times now. So are the consumer Samsung TV’s I’ve seen, and their computers and screens”.
Meanwhile as far as specs of Galaxy S3 is concerned, the smartphone comes with 4.8 inch super AMOLED HD screen, Quad-core 1.4GHz Exynos 4 processor, 1GB RAM, 16, 32, and 64 GB of memory. The smartphone comes with 8MP back camera with LED flash. It also comes with a very impressive front facing 1.9MP camera. It also comes with a Micro SD options and you can add another 64 GB through Micro SD. All these specs and features make Samsung’s latest baby a thorough winner. Apple right now has no answer to this Samsung marvel.
