Rumors: iPhone 5 expected specs include metal back and 4 inch display

More rumors are coming out about Apple iPhone 5. Reports suggest that its expected specs include metal back and 4 inch display besides a whole lot of other improvements

Samsung Galaxy 3 is out in the market and rave reviews are being written across the world about the Korean tech giant Samsung’s latest great offering. This is a true winner and millions of its units are going to be snapped off shelves within weeks when it is actually launched in the market before the May end.

But the most important Samsung rival and the manufacturer of the highest selling smartphone, iPhone, is not expected to be left behind. Apple is expected to launch its next generation smartphone being dubbed as iPhone 5 within months or even earlier.

Next month Apple is holding its annual WWDC, beginning June 11 and some rumors indicate that Apple is going back to its old iPhone launch schedule of June and will not wait till October as it was introduced last year. But being a secretive company Apple keeps a sort of mystery always shrouding its products till they are actually launched by Apple bosses. Steve Jobs did it his whole life and Tim Cook is expected to follow the tradition of his former boss very religiously.

But what is known so far, through rumors and Apple’s affiliate companies’ leaks, suggest that iPhone 5 is going to be a lot improved than the existing version of its flagship smartphone iPhone 4S. Reports suggest that it will come with bigger display, better processor, improved SIRI, at least 1GB of RAM and better camera.

A latest Wired report while talking about the changes in iPhone 5 from its existing iPhone 4S version says the new phone will be bigger and better. “The main differences in appearance between the next iPhone and the current iPhone 4S? A metal back, a smaller dock connector, a 20 percent decrease in thickness, and a longer 4-inch display”, says a latest Wired report by John Brownlee.

Meanwhile the people who don’t like Apple products have pounced on the reports that Apple wants to go for a bigger display due to Android smartphones’ increasing influence in the market. A reader says, “Can anyone else believe crApple is just now getting these ideas? Android phones have been better than this for years.  My LG Spectrum has a faster processor (nearly 2x faster, in fact), twice as much RAM, higher screen resolution, a much larger screen, a much better front camera, and cost me about half of what the 4S costs.  I have both, in fact–my company bought us 4S’s recently and I absolutely hate mine in comparison to my Android phone”.  But Apple fans are happy and want the forthcoming version to be launched as soon as possible. They have their reason too and say Apple will lose market share to Samsung after the launch of its impressive Galaxy S3.

oh boy. . . here we go again.

We just finished with the ridiculous hype and rumor mills of the GS III and now we have to start in with the ip5?!?!?!?

You would think these were life saving devices with all the hype and rumors surrounding them. They are over priced cell phones, that’s all.

Apple will surely go big with the next Iphone in terms of size ,LOOKS and performance.then we can safely name it as iphone 5.I believe that Siri –which was introduced in the iphone 4s..will be taken to the next level ie it will be deeply intergrated in the Iphone 5.Every actions be it a phone call to surfing etc will be voice controlled.Touch will be replaced by voice.when I can Siri (next level)…it will be able to understand any given word whether spoken slow /fast..with an American accent or any other non-American accent. It will spawn other companies to follow suit replacing Touch screens..at present only Apple is capable of delivering this type of phone.
Though I am no Apple fanboy…I am using a Windows phone 7.5..HTC HD7 for the past 2 years.the Metro UI is neat…..but it stops at that….no true multitasking…apps go in hibernation,Quality apps not present…no proper notification system….even Facebook does not update automatically.
Hats off to HTC for the smooth implementation of touch though….
Next option if not Apple would be Android…..esp the HTC One X or the Samsung S3

Android can already do everything with voice and they had that for years now. They just don’t have a robot gimmick for sales pitches.

Android and Blackberry OS are the only operating systems that can multi task.
