Treyarch’s new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is to get official release on Nov. 13, 2012. Well, even in the wake of criticism from Grumpy gamers, Treyarch is set to come back to first-person shooter (FPS) action. Most possibly, replying to the criticisms, the game developer will add a new twist to the formula of the famous first-person shooter (FPS) game. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, a sequel to the 2010 Call of Duty: Black Ops also comes for Microsoft Windows PCs, Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii gaming consoles. The Black Ops II will be the first title of the Call of Duty series to feature a totally futuristic setting and also a future warfare technology. It will tell the stories of both 2025 and 1980’s of the great Cold War.
As noted above, the story of Black Ops 2 will jump between two distant timelines; the 2025 and the end of Cold War period. Most of the time you will be in 2025 as David Mason, son of Black Ops original’s protagonist Alex Mason. Black Ops character Frank Woods will narrate the story. Woods, who is an old man in the story, didn’t die at the end of the Black Ops. The story also tells about a fictitious second Cold War, which will be fought between the U.S and China due to the shortage of Rare Earth Elements, which are used to produce military weapons and tech devices.
Many Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s real-world hooks are inspiration of P.W Singer’s Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century. Black Ops 2’s director Dave Anthony says that we should learn more about imaginary Viktor Reznov, who was “essentially a figment of the player’s imagination.” Raul Mendez, who hacks a protection drone and weapons from the U.S. military, will be the villain of the new Balck Ops. David Goyer, co-writer of the Dark Knight and Batman Begins is the writer of Black Ops 2’s plot.
Futuristic weaponries and controlling systems will be the major attraction of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Players can control drones from their wrist in the game and can jump up to anti-aircraft gun and shot down enemy drones. As in some sequences of 1980s, there will be horses and horseback rides. Vehicle segments in the game will be back and it will have a futuristic VTOL airships and other sophisticated vehicles. A brand new game mode called the Strike Force will be yet another notable thing with the ninth version of the Call of Duty game. In total, players can enjoy a totally new gameplay with the upcoming Balck Ops 2.
Zombies are certainly to come back in Black Ops II. Zombies will feature all fresh modes, which are more furnished than ever. “There will be more zombies and more modes; just more,” Studio Director Mark Lamia confirms. The zombies will be in the multiplayer engine. “If you think about all of the things we can do with our multiplayer engine. You can start to think about how we might be looking at this,” Lama adds. Of course, after Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Black Ops 2 will have the Zombies mode. It will be the third time Zombies mode is to come up in a Call of Duty title.
