Apple’s New iPad has finally arrived in India with price tag ranging from Rs 50,900 to Rs 30500 for 64 GB wiFi and 4G to 16GB Wifi only model
Apple’s highest selling tablet new iPad has hit the shelves in the Indian market. The new tablet is being introduced after months of its launch in the international market. For Cupertino based tech giant that sits on a cash mountain of $110 billion, the Indian market doesn’t count much so far as the volumes are very low.
The India launch of the new Apple tablet is coming when Apple is introducing the highest selling tablet in the world in smaller and insignificant markets like Colombia, Estonia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro and Thailand. Apple seems to be more interested in organizing its resources in those countries from where it is able to generate huge amount of money.
Most of the tablets that Indian consumers bought in the last fiscal were the cheaper tablets that Indian retailers source from China, rebrand and sell it in the Indian market. These tablets are mostly available in the market for as low as Rs 6000-10000.
For Indian consumers iPad with a price tag of Rs 50,900 for 64GB (Wi-Fi+4G) tablet is simply too high a price and not many are prepared to be enticed by Apple’s name. The cheapest new iPad tablet in the market will be entry level 16GB Wi-Fi model that will be priced at Rs 30,500.
Apple’s latest tablet is much more improved when compared to the last version iPad 2. Apple has fitted the new iPad with a new chip called A5X. The ARM-based chip performs “twice as fast” as NVIDIA’s recent Tegra 3 quad core processor. Apple says the A5X chip eliminates the need for a quad core processor. The new iPad just replicates its predecessor. The device is also to get three memory variants; 16, 32 and 64GB.
Apple’s new iPad’s display is the best and no other tablet in the market even remotely close to it. The device sport a stunning Retina Display like the iPhone 4 and 4S with an amazing resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. It is only 246-ppi in sharpness. But it is enough to pack the screen resolution. The screen is the same 9.7-inch panel and Apple has implanted fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating on its screen.
When compared to the camera in previous iPad 2, the new iPad comes with much more improved camera. The new iPad is to come with a 5-megapixel iSight rear camera. You can capture video at 1080p on the gadget. The camera features a 5-element lens, auto focus lock, image stabilization for video and auto face-detection. Moreover, the tablet touts video geo-tagging and tap-to-focus features for enhanced camera experience. For Apple fans it is the natural development of their favored tablet and Indian consumers are going to love their new possessions.
