Galaxy S3 release nears, May 3 expected date: 4.7 inch screen confirmed

May 3 seems to be confirmed Samsung Galaxy S3 release date. Meanwhile leaks suggest that Galaxy S3 is expected to come with 4.7 inch screen and 1.4GHz ‘Exynos 4 Quad’ processor

There is every reason to believe that Samsung event to be held in London on May 3 will showcase Samsung Galaxy S3. For Samsung fans the expectations are very high from the forthcoming Galaxy S series smartphone.

But things seem to be becoming too hot for the company to handle. The Galaxy S3 phone is being awaited the same way as Cupertino based tech giant Apple’s iconic smartphones are awaited. I am sure this year, Samsung will witness long queues of eager Galaxy S3 fans lining outside its offices across much of the world including the US when it is launched in the market.

Already its flagship Galaxy S2 has become the highest selling Android smartphone. In many markets it has beaten Apple and its iPhone and Galaxy S3 will see the craze of Samsung phones reaching a new high.

Reports suggest that Galaxy S3 will come with major improvements in its features. A report in The Verge suggests that Galaxy S 3 will come with quad-core processor with ‘superlative benchmarks. The report suggests that the event will showcase Galaxy S3. The Verge report also says that the processor in Galaxy S3 will be much faster 1.4GHz ‘Exynos 4 Quad’ processor. But it hastens to add that Tegra 3 will not be installed in Galaxy S3 as many people were hoping. A Zdnet report while talking about 1.4GHz ‘Exynos 4 Quad’ processor says, “The chip uses a 32nm manufacturing process that provides “double the processing power” of the previous generation 45nm ‘Exynos 4 Dual’ and uses 20 percent less power, meaning that it should provide a longer battery life.” But another report suggests that it will have a 1.8GHz chip, as well as a hearty 2GB of RAM, putting it easily at the top of the pile in terms of power. But we cannot be sure till we actually get to see it on May 3.

Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with a very big 4.3 inch screen. Reports suggest that its new variant will come with 4.6 or even bigger 4.8 inch screen size. A dodgy-looking Samsung presentation slide at CES 2012 has shown an edge to edge 4.6-inch display for the new Galaxy S III. A BGR leak says a different story, however. It says the Samsung phone will pack a 4.8-inch screen with a Full HD 1080p resolution. On the other hand, a report on Reddit mentions that the device will sport a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED+ HD display. There are also reports that Samsung will implant a flexible display on its 2012 version of Galaxy S. Again, we cannot be sure as to what is in store for Galaxy S3, but certainly it will be bigger and better display than what we have in the Galaxy S2 right now.
