The Preezy of the United Steezy is actually none other than Barack Obama who slow jams the news (VIDEO) with none other than the maverick Jimmy Fallon for his show at University of North Carolina. It was a show that will continue to make headlines in newspapers and news portals for a long time to come.
Firstly it was the first time that any serving President of United States tried his hands at the skit and in the process made himself a laughing stock. It was probably the first time ever when a serving President actually took a dig at his own office. Many will call it the great humor and try to call Obama cool, as many have already done, but for others it was disgracing the Presidential office. Even if not, it has given enough ammo to his rivals in GOP and others.
Many people, following Obama’s appearance on the skit have said that Obama is cool compared to his Republican opponent Mitt Romney who has all but won the GOP nomination. But as Chris Cillizza of The Fix says, this trait of being cool may not help Obama win the election. On the other hand it may prompt others to move away from Obama.
A reader while accepting that President Obama looked cool during the skit, goes on to add that being cool was not a quality he or his friends want to see in a President of United States. “Man…I wasn’t sure who to vote for before President Obama slow jammed the news. Wow, he is so coooooooooool. It’s too bad that being cool doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with running the country or fixing our economy. America needs a leader not an R&B singer who used to organize communities. Romney may sing like a dog in heat but you cannot fake his resume or experience. America deserves what it gets if it falls for Obama’s comedy routine”, says he.
