Asus Transformer Pad 300 release date seems to have been confirmed. Here we discuss specs of quad core tablet
Taiwanese tech giant Asustek has finally shipped its new tablet PC, the Transformer Pad TF300 with a low price tag as was expected. The 10.1-inch Android tablet has arrived in stores for a price of just $379. This is the best thing to have happened to the tablet market.
Transformer Pad 300 also comes with Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad core processor that clocks at 1.2GHz. The tech world is really excited about the new Asus tablet, which may stand out in the market with its low price tag. Well, we have been familiar with lots of 7-inch tablets with small price tags. However, the 10.1-inch new Pad 300 comes for a relatively lower price compared to its major rivals.
Transformer Pad 300 specs; a sneak peak
As noted above, the new Asus tablet is coming up with Nvidia’s high power Tegra 3 processor with 1GB of RAM. The device will certainly be one of the first tablets to feature the quad core processor. Asus’ own 10.1-inch Transformer Prime was the first device in the world to get the quad core processor. Anyway, to have a quad core processor is the biggest plus point of the Transformer Pad 300, which features 16GB and 32GB versions with both having microSD slots.
The Asus tablet sports an 8-megapixel rear camera unfortunately with no flash, however. There is a 1.2-megapixel front camera for video chatting and for capturing self-portraits as well. For connectivity, the tablet boasts Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 3.0 and others. A keyboard dock, the landmark feature of all Asus tablets, can turn the Android tablet to a perfect and compact netbook-like clamshell. That means business and often-on-the-move customers will be largely helpful of the machine.
The integrated battery of the tablet ensures a decent 7 hours 7 minutes video playback performance for the Pad 300. The 10.1-inch IPS display of the Pad 300 packs 1280 x 800 pixels. The tablet measures 7.11 x 10.35 x 0.38 inches and its weighs at 1.39 pounds. With 0.38-inch thickness, it is thicker than its predecessor the Transformer Prime and in weight it is lighter than Apple iPad tablet. Altogether, the Pad 300 is a neat device with nice innards and handy dimensions. It certainly can give a run for money for many large Android tablets.
What is outstanding?
Asus Transformer Pad 300 is not a regular tablet. It brings together many outlying features to a single platform; a quad core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 10.1-inch display and a lower price. These four things are the most outstanding features of the Pad 300. Thanks to Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, the device will perform at a blazing speed. Hectic tasks can be done in less time. For video editing, gaming, professional use, the tablet will be the better choice over the rest of the crowd. Ice Cream Sandwich makes the device fresh and modern with a great interface. The 10.1-inch large display and relatively low price further add into the strength of the tablet.
What others say?
“The Asus Transformer Pad makes for a good, large-screen value Android tablet. The extra storage you’ll get will come in handy, but you’ll have to be willing to sacrifice niceties like a subwoofer, rear-camera flash, and super IPS display to go with this lower-cost model. If you like the idea of extra storage and saving some bucks, the Transformer Pad makes a good choice,” writes PCWorld’s Melissa J. Perenson, who also notes that the device has some stability issues.
“With a reasonable price tag and quad-core processor, ICS OS, this tablet is a viable option for all Android lovers out there. But, the situation might change with the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1), which is due for next month. The Galaxy tab is also expected to be coming with a reasonable price tag of $399,” comments Sangeeta Mukherjee of IBTimes.
Conclusion
The Transformer Pad 300 is yet another brilliant Android tablet from Asus. Its low price factor will certainly attract customers towards it. The company pitches the Pad 300 as an ideal replacement for a gaming device and laptop with its rich multimedia features and keypad dock.
