Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans full fight was among the best we had in years. Many people are wondering if he is Manny Pacquiao of MMA
Everyone seems to be calling him the best fighter of over times. No one had thought that within a couple of years, a young boy from nowhere would come to the UFC, make a mark and then enslave the most frightening fighting sports of our time. He has become a phenomenon right now and we cannot compare him to anyone in the world who came up with so much of talent and at such a young age.
But it was a night that will remain etched in the minds of MMA fans for a long time to come. Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans fight was full of ups and downs. But it remained packed with intense action from beginning till end.
Though Jon Jones dominated the fight from very beginning and won all the five rounds, but intial rounds were very close and could have gone both ways. But the last two rounds certainly belong to none but him and seeing the young man of just 24 years of age hammering one of the most respected fighters of our times was a scene that not many would had visualized till just a year or so ago. Many people were seriously hoping that Evans would put an end to the fairytale type exploits of Jones in the octagon.
Jon Jones fans are clearly elated following a super-show by their favorite MMA star. A Jones fan has this to say, “Jones won all 5 rounds CLEARLY. He fought a smart fight, nothing flashy just picked Rashad apart. It seemed he had Rashad rocked a couple times but hesitated to go for the finish, either on purpose or he respected the power of Rashad throwing a desperation haymaker. Either way I would have liked to see him get the finish. Rashad had no chance, he landed one solid overhand right and one solid head kick and that was it, and had no chance at all for the takedown on Jones, he hasn’t been himself in there ever since Machida made him do the stanky leg, probably the last time we see him fighting for the belt, at least at 205”.
Meanwhile people are wondering as to who can beat Jon Jones in the years to come? He has beaten the big guns of the UFC one by one. He chooses and takes them apart without any regret or remorse. Now everyone is calling him the undisputed king of MMA. A Los Angeles Times report while praising him goes on to say, “Jon Jones is universally considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. He has no real defeats (he was disqualified for illegal elbows in a fight that was basically finished in his favor before he threw them) and is coming off one of the all time best years in MMA history”. Many people are comparing him to Manny Pacquiao, a boxer of Philippine origin who has taken the boxing world by storm and has become the undisputed numero uno of the boxing world. But apparently Manny has rarely had so one sided wins as Jon Jones and he is not as young as him. Instead Manny is as old as Rashad Evans.
