A CME will not kill anyone, your Internet MAY slow down a tiny bit, you might have a few issues with gps for a couple of days. The planets line up perfectly every single year. There were solar flares of around the same size in 2005 and we’re all still alive.

Stop it with this whole “arrrgghh the sun is going to kill us” crap. Read an actual book, stop watching doomsday documentaries and get a life. You just make yourself look stupid when you say you believe the world will end because of a couple of sun flares.

CME IMPACT: A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth’s magnetic field at 0617 UT on Jan. 22nd. At first the impact did not appear to be a strong one: the solar wind speed barely lifted itself to ~400 km/s when the CME passed by. Now, however, in the wake of the CME, a dense and increasingly geoeffective solar wind stream is blowing around Earth, setting the stage for possible auroras on the night of Jan. 22nd. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

A surge of ground currents in Lofoton, Norway, signaled the CME’s arrival, but the impact occurred as the sun was rising–too late for European sky watchers to spy the Northern Lights. In Canada, however, there was a window of visibility:

“It was very cloudy at Lake Laberge north of Whitehorse, but we just happened to get 10 minutes of clear sky not long after the CME hit,” reports Phil Hart from the Yukon. “A green corona appeared directly overhead.”

P.P.S. I have never ‘blogged’ before…so if my message was too harsh I appologise but Australia has a very intelligent population that fit’s into Manhattan Island and we don’t appreciate claims that are overzealous and worrisome. What is the current status. It is almost 2 hrs since the solar flare ought to have hit. What does NASA observed. Has the solar flare hit the earth. what is the extent of damage if any so far? Why spaceweather.com which has predicted it would hit by 22.00 hrs Ut ON 21ST SAY NOW. Has the solar flare weakend and did not have that much of force to destroy as predicted by earth. Kindly post the latest

What does it mean when the planets form in perfect corilation, I was on my smart phone and looking into the skys on google sky maps and had realised that the planets are all in a perfect line, does this have any effect or is it a natural occurance?
