The next upgrade to Samsung’s flagship smartphone series Galaxy S3 will reportedly have a 3D version besides the regular HD version. Several reports have reported that the 3D version of Galaxy S will come up with a large glasses-free 3D display. The phone will be capable to capture 3D video with its dual rear cameras.
Dubbed Galaxy S 3D, the 3D version of the next-gen Galaxy phone is hoped to appear in stores next year. The device will take on HTC Evo 3D and LG Optimus 3D on market. The new Galaxy S phone will evidently have a new Super Amoled HD Plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and screen size between 4.2-inch to 4.65-inch.
Samsung has not yet uttered any word on its next Galaxy S phone. The South Korean technology giant unveiled Galaxy S II mid this year with an aim to take on the 2011 upgrade of iPhone. But, since Apple delayed release of iPhone 4S until later this year, Galaxy S II has been in fight with iPhone 4, the 2010 version of Apple’s flagship smartphone. Hence, many analysts went on to predict that Samsung will roll out its next Galaxy S phone some earlier to face off both iPhone 4S and possible iPhone 5 next year.
Indeed, Samsung, arguably the best Android phone maker in the world, might have to surface a highly powerful new version to its Galaxy S series. Global mobile market has turned more vibrant with many brilliant products like Nokia Lumia 800, Droid RAZR, iPhone 4S and several others. Samsung will have to take on all these competitors under various platforms with a Galaxy S III and its 3D version. Certainly, the Korean tech innovator might be working on such a strong gadget for next year.
As per rumors, the new Galaxy S phone will be powered by a 1.8 GHz quad core processor with Samsung’s Exynos series of SoC, a Super AMOLED HD display and 4G LTE connectivity. Of course, the new Galaxy S phone will work on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the most recent update to the mobile OS from Google. Well, we will be getting one more incredible smartphone from Samsung next year.
It seems quite intelligible that Samsung will roll out a 3D version more for its Galaxy S III next year. Some sources reported that there would be only a 3D version as the next Galaxy S phone. There is less chance that Samsung will limit its next major Galaxy S update as a 3D device only. What may happen is that we will get an advanced Galaxy S III early next year and a 3D version late next year.
“A 3D version of the Galaxy is expected and it’s likely to be called the Galaxy S 3D. A 3D display is likely along with support for 3D video and photo shooting. The 3D fever seems to be hitting mobile phones and Samsung hadn’t jumped onboard the bandwagon,” says Tech2’s Rossi Fernandes.
Of course, Samsung will not brave to roll out only a 3D version for its Galaxy S series next year. It is a time 3D technology is not drawing much attention, mainly because of the imperfection in their manufacturing. We have just seen the failure of Nintendo 3DS and many 3D TVs this year. However, 3D technology has much potential in the coming years. And so, Samsung will be unveiling a 3D version for its Galaxy S III with high end specs and features.
Ice Cream Sandwich will be one major attraction of Galaxy S III next year apart from quad core processor. Samsung will certainly design its next Galaxy S phone with the strength to take on other leading Ice Cream Sandwich phones. To keep on its tradition as the world’s most successful Android phone, Galaxy S will get a state of the art upgrade. Let us wait until CES 2012 or MWC 2012 – in January and February – to see whether the Korean firm will put on display any of its upcoming phones.
“Needless to say, for now none of the details regarding the Galaxy S III and Galaxy S 3D are confirmed. But a new Galaxy S is certainly in the making, and it’s most probably going to be unveiled at MWC 2012 (February 27 – March 1),” says Florin of Unwired Review.
