Motorola Razr vs iPhone 4S: comparison

It is difficult to compare Motorola Droid Razr and Apple iPhone 4S. Both are great smart phones and blazing fast

Both are great phones and have features that make them stand out in the crowd of new and newer smart phones hitting the market every other day. One is the thinnest smart phone around and the other one is one of the best launched with the best specs so far. Both compete well on many counts and it is rather difficult to pinpoint a clear winner in the comparison of the two smart phones.

Both the smart phones come with great display, beautiful design, cameras that almost leave professional cameras irrelevant for ordinary people and huge internal memory.

Motorola RAZR is beautiful from outside and comes with very powerful tools inside. It comes with a cool 1GB of RAM hooks up with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and Android 2.3.5 to get you a lightning-fast user interface and the power to multi-task like never before. Stream or download music and photos from your home or work computer with the easy-to-use MotoCast app1. Watch movies on a screen that sports a wider range of colors than most LCD HDTVs. And for that inspiring filmmaker in you, use the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p video capture for crisp, clear, cinematic-quality images.

iPhone 4S on the other hand is the fastest selling smart phone ever. It amazed the market watchers following its launch when within just three days of its launch it sold more than four million units. Siri is being hailed as “standout feature” of the iPhone 4S and reviewers ended their reviews quite charmed by the personal assistant Siri.

Both the smart phones compete well. But when it comes to screen size Droid Razr seems to be a clear winner. Motorola’s new Android phone comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display that has a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. On contrast, Apple has kept up its customary 3.5 inch display on iPhone 4S also. The high resolution Retina Display, however, provides a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels at 326 ppi.

Right now Motorola Razr runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, the older version of Google’s Android operating system. On the other hand iPhone 4S runs on iOS 5, the latest version of Apple’s famous mobile operating system. The new iOS version is rich with many radical features including iCloud, iMessage, Newsstand, Notification Center, and many others. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is going to be available on Motorola Droid Razr within a couple of weeks and so Apple’s iPhone 4S would lose its clear advantage in terms of operating system. But for that the users will have to wait for some time right now.

When talking of camera, the two smart phones come with almost matching camera features. The new iPhone comes with 8 megapixel primary camera with features like autofocus, LED flash, backside illumination sensor, face detection, and a five element lens. For video chatting, you have a VGA camera on the device. Motorola’s Droid RAZR comes equipped 8 megapixel primary camera and a 1.3-megapixel front camera. There are image stabilizer and LED flash features on RAZR, making it very competitive.

Droid Razr comes with a powerful dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and turbo-boosted 4G LTE speeds, that makes it blazing fast. On the other hand iPhone 4S is the fastest iPhone that Apple has made so far. The smartest phone comes with dual-core A5 processor (it is as powerful as iPad 2 processor) along with a power graphics processing unit.

Both phones come with great features and it would be pointless to say as to which one is the best of ‘em all. While talking of iPhone 4S, the targeted audiences are really those who want to upgrade their iPhone 4, nonetheless it is more than a mere upgrade. It is altogether a new smart phone with new features that make it many times better than the previous iPhone 4. With innovative features such as iCloud, Apple intends to steal the heart of customers who are excited about cloud computing. Meanwhile, Motorola mainly aims at customers who are fed up with the iPhone stuff. With a large display, the company hopes it will get more film watching and web surfing consumers. Both are great phones and would look stunning in your hands. So go for any of the two.

2nd last paragraph is so one-sided, Zarz has 1.2Ghz, while 4s has 1.0Ghz but writing seems to show iPhone 4S is faster. Many points are great, but its very general, it would be better if specific difference could be highlighted with facts and figures not just writers words
