UFC 136 is merely hours ago and the excitement is on its peak. Meanwhile people wonder if Edgar vs Maynard will be more entertaining or Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. What will you watch?
We all know that Edgar will be trying to impress us all when he reenters the octagon. The time has come now and the wily fighter is going to make it sure that he has a memorable outing this Saturday.
He is a man in hurry and determined to retake his position on the top in UFC. But I am sure he is not going to go unchallenged. There is another very worthy fighter who will try his best to not allow Edgar go past him. And we all know that Edgar wants to prove that he is no longer the kid.
He recently said that he was eager to show to the world he is no longer a kid and wants to tame Maynard who has sort of upper hand over him so far.
It is not the first time that they are facing each other. A report says, “It’s a trilogy that fight fans have been waiting to see resolved, one where Maynard holds a 1-0-1 lead after handing Edgar his lone pro loss in 2008, but the ones who want to see the two part ways more than anyone are the lightweight contenders waiting to get their shot at the belt after the title’s been held in limbo pending this weekend’s bout. Edgar knows that there’s a line of hungry fighters waiting to get at him should he successfully defend his crown for the third time, but he can’t worry about that now”.
Now it is time to end this mystery who is better of them. Maynard had an upper hand but Edgar has really improved a lot. You can’t blame either fighter for wanting to be done with each other. As great as the second bout was, and as intriguing as this rivalry has become, there comes a point when you just want to move on. Edgar has heard nothing but Gray Maynard for over a year, and it’s the same with Maynard hearing about Edgar. Ask the champ if he’s watched film of the rematch, and he says with a chuckle, “if my coaches force me to sit there and watch it, I’ll do so.”
The fighting is going to be interesting. But I wonder if this UFC fight can match the frenzy that Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Manny Pacquiao fight will create. Many people say that UFC is a lot better game than boxing, but despite it obviously being superior and more dangerous MMA has failed to get as good reception among common people as boxing has got.
Money in top boxing events too is huge. Mayweather makes at least 70 million dollars in every fight. In the elusive Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight the two are expected to make 100 million dollars each. But that is not coming anytime soon and many say would never ever happen.
