Mahindra & Mahindra launch XUV 500 for Rs 10.80 to Rs 12.88 lakh

New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra is launching XUV 500 in India for Rs 10.80 to Rs 12.88 lakh. It is going to give tough fight to existing cars in the category

‎India’s leading carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra is setting its eyes to high end SUVs for the market in India and abroad. After launching many of the top SUVs in the domestic market Mahindra & Mahindra that has interest ranging from automobiles to aviation and software development the company has introduced XUV500 SUV in Indian car bazaar.

It is a car that Mahindra and Mahindra has tried to make elegant, stylish and a global face of Indian technical fineness.  XUV 500 is the eighth car by Mahindra in India and is the outcome of exhaustive research and development of over four years. The new Mahindra SUV is produced at the Chakan plant and incorporates global SUV features.

Price wise it is going to be a bit higher than Mahindra’s another great SUV Scorpio. Scorpio is among the largest selling cars in its segment and has got widespread acceptability in the Indian car bazaar.

The new SUV from India is priced rather reasonably. Its price for the lowest variant starts at Rs 10.80 lakh ex-showroom Delhi and goes up to Rs 12.88 lakh for Mahindra XUV 500 W8 four wheel drive model. The Mahindra XUV 500 two wheel drive model is priced at Rs 11.95 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

The new car when in the concept period was named as Mahindra W201. Before beginning the production of the car Mahindra undertook one of its largest consumer survey to really understand what people want in that particular segment. The survey reportedly covered respondents from the western markets, India and South Africa. The new SUV has undergone rigorous testing and validation in some European, Australian and South African countries. It is under development as an SUV between Mahindra Scorpio and high end premium SUVs available in India.
