Haryana: Mango Fair begins at Pinjore

Chandigarh: Two-day long 20th Mango Mela (Fair), organised by the tourism and horticulture departments of Haryana state, began yesterday at Yadvindra Gardens, Pinjore. Chhatar Singh, principal secretary to Chief Minister, Haryana, declared the mela open at Yadavindra Gardens.

Speaking on the occasion  Chhatar Singh said that Yadvindra Garden under, the dynamic leadership of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister, Haryana, was being developed as a renowned heritage destination. Also, the nearby Bhima Devi Temple had been renovated as a world-class ancient museum. Various renovation and conservation works in the garden are in progress.

The chief guest was escorted to the mela venue where 2,592 entries of mangoes from all across the northern part of India were displayed. The highlight of the display section this year was the 225 varieties of mangoes. The display also had range of 332 entries of mango products such as mango chutney, aam ka pana, aam papad, mango squash etc.
