Chandigarh: The President of Haryana Youth Congress Mr. Chiranjeev Rao said that Haryana Youth Congress Party has decided to launch an innovative programme “Chalo Panchayat Ke Dwar” on the directions of All India Congress Party General Secretary Mr. Rahul Gandhi from November 1 on the auspicious Haryana Day.
Mr. Chiranjeev was addressing a press conference at Press Club here today. He said that this programme would culminate on November 20 and efforts would be made to reach every nook & corner and each village panchayat of the State during this campaign.
The Youth President said that Haryana Youth Congress would provide Identity Card to about 5 Lakh primary members and office bearers of
the Youth Congress first time in the State so that they could get redressed the grievances of the people from the district administration. He further said that during this campaign, the people would be apprised with the policies and programmes of the Government which had been executed during last five and half year in the present regime.
He maintained that although efforts have been made by the Government
through its machinery to acquaint the people about the policies and
programmes but still some people were unaware about the innovative
policies and programmes of the Government which had been launched in
the State for their betterment under the sagacious leadership of Chief
Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda. He said that even some people were
not fully acquainted with the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Guarantee
Scheme which provides employment guarantee of minimum 100 days to a
beneficiary in one year.
While congratulating the players of the Country and State who had participated in recently concluded Common Wealth Games and brought
laurel, Mr. Rao said that the players of the State had done extremely
well by getting gold, silver and bronze medals and this had only
become possible due to the innovative sports policies of the Chief
Minister of Haryana. He said that Mr. Hooda had announced to provide a
sum of Rs.15 Lakh to the winners of gold medal, Rs.10 Lakhs for silver
and Rs.5 Lakhs for bronze medal which resulted in that the players of
the State had exhibited excellent performance during in these games.
In reply to a question about the problem of purchase of paddy in grain
markets, Mr. Rao maintained that the problem had been sort out by the
Chief Minister and now there was no problem of purchase of paddy in
the State. He said that Haryana Youth Congress would demand from the
Government to provide a bonus of Rs.300 per quintal to the farmers
whose paddy crops had been badly damaged due to the flood in many
districts. While referring to solve the unemployment problem in the
State, he maintained that special thrust was being given to promote
professional courses in the State and the seats in technical institutes had been increased from 27000 to 1.12 Lakh in the State during last half and five years so that optimum employment opportunities could be generated for youth in the State.
While referring to the election of Student Union in and Colleges of in
the State, he said that steps were being taken in this regard so that
these could be held. He said that the elections of NSUI had already
been conducted. He sought the cooperation of the media so that Youth
Congress could success in its endeavour to reach to the common and
poor man on the directions of Mr. Rahul Gandhi.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mr. Chiranjeev Rao is the
grandson of Late Rao Abhey Singh who remained MLA three times and now
Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav, Finance Minister Haryana who had won Vidhan
Sabha Elections six consecutive times from Rewari Constituency is the
father of Mr. Chiranjeev Rao. Thus, the third generation of Rao Family
had entered into the politics with the blessings of All India Congress
Party President Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan
On the occasion, Incharge of Haryana Youth Congress Ms. Usha Naidu,
General Secretary Haryana Youth Congress Mr. Virender Rathaur and a
number of Youth Congress office bearers and workers were also present.
