Chandigarh: A lady who is suffering from swine flue, was shown the doors of general hospital, Fatehabad by hospital staff. Not only this, the doctors also denied to treat her. According to the information Gurnam Singh 60, died on past month because of swine flue in Mohhamadpur Rohi, his sister Kulwant Kaur and Mahender Kaur accompanied him without taking any precautions, hence they also received the flue virus. On Monday evening both Kulwant Kaur and Mahender Kaur visited the civil hospital, Fatehabad in Haryana, as they were feeling ill but the hospital staffs treated them most callously and like untouchables. Source said that after the death of Gurnam Singh, his sister Kulwant Kaur was found affected by swine flue in the medical reports. After primary treatment she was referred to PGI, Rohtak for treatment. After treatment she returned to village MP Rohi on Saturday. On Monday evening Kulwant Kaur felt ill, she called her sister Mahender Kaur, who accompanied her to civil hospital, Fatehabad. Mahender Kaur alleged that “We managed somehow and came to civil hospital and got a slip from OPD. We were on the way to doctor room, when a person came to me and took back the slip and said that they should return back to home”. When contacted to NK Goyel, SMO In-charge said “I was busy with medical examination I don’t know about the matter”. When contacted to Deputy Civil Surgeon HL Gupta said “No member of the staff has shown the doors to the women’s came to hospital. If it is such then we will investigate the whole episode and will take proper action against the staff. There is nothing to panic, we are keeping a strict vigil on them every day”.
